I'm with you. I have a few electronic razors and none of them are worth using over a simple $5 razor.

Gilette > electronic razors

Does it have the little back razor that's supposed to be used for sideburns? If so, use that on your whole face. That's what works for me.

that doesnt shave close enough does it?

If this is your first time in a long time using an electric, your skin has to get used to it. You might get razorburn for a couple weeks, but when that goes away you should get a smoother shave. Just use it every day and don't push too hard.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
I need to get a real razor. I'm sick of this electric razor shit.....it takes way too fucking long to shave.

I've always used an electric razor, but I'm almost tempted to switch at this point. There ARE patches which I can never seem to get entirely smooth, and my beard hair has a nasty habit of destroying blades in a hurry. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of the idea that I'd be putting a BLADE on my FACE. That concept -- much like the thought of wearing contact lenses -- freaks me out.

Newsflash: Electric razors will never get as close of a shave as a standard bic or gilette.

I thought this was common knowledge. You sacrifice a complete shave for speed.

the strange thing is, the electric shaves my moustache 100 times closer than the manual razor ever did. its as smooth as a babys butt.

my neck and right under my jaw are the big problems

Yeah, they aren't really meant to fully replace razors. I get most of it with my electric, than finish the rest with a razor.

Same here. I guess I have a thick beard, so Electrics can't clean it up completely. They do thin it out some though, and make it much easier/quicker to shave with the blade.

Yeah, there's a big adjustment period your skin needs to go through, especially if it's your first time for an electric. Also, depends on how heavy of a beard you get. Electric razors are almost useless for thicker ones. Finer ones are great for them though.....also, if you use one every day shaving is much quicker than a blade. If your skin and hair are suited for it that is.

Shit i just use a T blade edger, it shaves pretty close but it's roughing up my baby face.
Lately however i've been contemplating going the razor route, what's a good razor?
Are the Mach 3s pretty good?

Ya, mach 3 is fine. Not sure about the new vibrating mach 3, although a lot of people here have said good things about them.

I'd probably stay away from the schick razors. The little safety bars they put over them probably do help you not to cut yourself, but they tend to leave razor burn.

I have a few friends who swear by the disposable bics, but knowing what I know about them, I have a feeling it's more of a cost issue than a quality issue.
