You're in my mind all of the time
I know that's not enough
If the sky can crack there must be someway back
For love and only love

Electrical Storm
Electrical Storm
Baby don't cry

*melts into a glob of pussyman*

I've tried for years on end not to like U2. The preachiness of their early years bugged me, and they always seemed like the band that people I hated liked. I secretly kept my affection for a few of their songs (Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me), but even those I tried to force myself into hating.

But Electrical Storm...I saw the video years ago and the song had just lingered in my brain until it finally forced me to buy their "Best of 1990-2000" disc. Its as though they plucked a string years ago in anticipation of a day when I would need this song, and now it has come to pass. My prejudice against them is shattered in concordance, and now I can appreciate their whole catalog sans guilt. The excessive sunglasses, the reverb, Bono parading around like some christ figure..all forgiven. U2 is one of the greatest bands to grace recorded media, and I'm no longer ashamed to proclaim them so. They got me. Thank you U2. Thank you.

Oh yeah. :)

U2 <3.

Their music is way too awesome. If you liked Electrical Storm you should try "The Unforgettable fire" (the song, which is on the album with the same name) and "Bad".

U2 are super-awesome. Pick up Achtung Baby, Zooropa, Joshua Tree, Pop (soooo Under-rated) and the rest of their albums in that order.

As good as their recorded output is, they are first and foremost a live band.

Seen them 3 times now (most recently on the Vertigo tour in Cardiff) and each time was fantastic, the last being arguably the best gig i've ever been privy to.

I get to see them for the first time a month from now...one of four sold out shows in Toronto. I cannot wait.

And yeah, I like U2 a lot...I can see why people think they fell off large after the Joshua Tree or Achtung Baby, but I like a lot of the stuff they've done past those albums as well. Electrical Storm happens to be one of those songs...very cool song. One of my favourite U2 songs ever is "New York", and I generally hate ANYTHING related to that overpublicized town.
