NEW YORK (Billboard) - Oscar-winning rapper Eminem (news - web sites) will release his fourth album, to be called "Encore," on Nov. 16, his Interscope Records label said Monday.

The set will be the follow-up to 2002's "The Eminem Show," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 9.2 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Interscope said its global sales stand at more than 19 million copies.

Because of Internet piracy, that album officially went on sale in the United States on a Sunday, nine days ahead of its originally scheduled street date.

Encore will hit shelves around the same time as another album featuring Eminem, a collection of unreleased Tupac tracks with Em as one of the producers (see "Eminem Signs On For Another 'New' Tupac Album"). Along with those projects, the Detroit rapper recently recorded a verse for a remix of the country's #1 song, "Lean Back" (see "Eminem, Mase Pitch In To Make 'Lean Back' Even Hotter").

I guess Interscope expects ToD to break through with this new record if they're pushing it back like that. There is a bunch of pretty big stuff coming out this fall.

I really hope the rumors are true that this will be U2's last album. I haven't heard anything on the rumor in about 2 months, though.

I'm just waiting for U2 to announce their new tour...I'd love to watch them live. Problem is they had two shows on back to back nights last time and they sold out in less then an hour. So I'll have to move fast.

i dont know what style he will have on his new album but i wish/hope he has a bit of a good mix of everything...like those crazy controversial songs from the MMLP and the SSLP and also his style from TES and the 8 Mile soundtrack.

listening to the commercial u can sort of hear the beat of a song in the background. it sounds hot but im sure it wont be the first single since the first is always poppy.

You'd think Em has enough power at Interscope where he doesn't have to put out some poppy track for the first single now. But hell, maybe he likes 'em. Not that they bother me or anything, but I'd love to see him drop a knife-to-the-throat-like Benzino diss track as the first single, just to be different.

the story behind that song is that he submitted his album to interscope, with the real slim shady but they rejected it since he didnt have a first single ala "My Name Is". they gave him like a week or 2 to come up with something and in that span he recorded "The Real Slim Shady" and one of his best songs "The Way I Am". if u pay attention to the lyrics The Way I Am is pretty much about the record company trying to force him into doing The Real Slim Shady.
