Meh, game's big but it is also made by a dodgy Russian dev that uses in-game assets to promote its support for the occupation of Ukraine.

> interested in solo, local server PvE (no wipes and no cheaters and no humans is godsend)
> turns out PvE solo is locked behind a DLC

So I need to buy base game + PVE solo DLC.

WTF is this business practice locking shit behind dlc?

I heard that you need 2 doctorate in weapons knowledge, a master's degree in ammunition knowledge and an academic kiss from a russian university to even install this game...

Installing it I cannot confirm. Its as normal as it can be. But yeah, knowledge is king in this game....there is quite a few things to learn. Its the Path of Exile of the shooter genre. ;)

Definitely liking the look of the setting much more than Arc Raiders.
Very different games IMO. Arc is much more casual then Tarkov.

I put quite a bit of time into Tarkov but the constant cheating, bullshit AI, and network issues (mainly desync) really just soured me on every going back to it. What finally broke me was losing essentially $1M in gear to a cheater within like 30 seconds of being in a match.

That is the most unhype wet fart trailer EVER for a 1.0 launch.

Save yourself money and get Arc Raiders instead.

Tarkov in 1.0 versus .5, is the same game.

The initial promise of what it was, road map, etc never played out. The devs suck at updates, game has hacker issues galore, and is in permanent alpha state.

last time I played the game it was riddled with hackers. Almost every game had a cheater in it.

Escape From Tarkov's 1.0 version reviewed by Travis Northup on PC.

Escape From Tarkov is the extraction shooter that started it all, and many of its dense, mercurial systems are fascinating to learn and master at your own pace as it viciously refuses to hold your hand. I genuinely love that unapologetic challenge, but an equal number of things about it are obnoxious, janky, or just plain scuffed to an unacceptable degree – that includes its subpar performance and bugginess, its absolutely atrocious UI, and its unmitigated plague of cheaters. There is still a stellar, tense, and realistic FPS with one of the best progression treadmills ever made buried underneath all that, feeding you interesting things to do for hundreds of hours. But if the jankiness doesn't entirely smother its promise, the absurd pay-to-win options that completely undermine much of Tarkov's difficulty come very close. There are still plenty of good times to be found for those with the gumption to push past a whole heck of a lot of glaring issues, but with more polished extractions shooters entering the fold since its initial arrival in 2018, Escape From Tarkov's 1.0 version becomes difficult to recommend in 2025.

Fuck this game and this company... the fuckwads took my money for dlc, I didnt realise it clicked the wrong radio button and they absolutely refused to give me any sort of customer support.

So basically theft, they stole my money.

Shitty company and exactly what you expect from a stereotypical russian company

Dont support these pricks

Edit: dont start with me on this one clarky clarky I get it that you wank yourself to sleep to extraction shooters but this was legitimate shitty practise from them, many months of fighting with them, if you are ok with a company behaving like that instead of giving support then you are the idiot you cried last time that you weren't

Miss click, chill the fuck out.

Not played Tarkov in years, so no idea what Radio buttons are. May I suggest if a random laughing emoji triggers you so much, maybe a Russian hardcore extraction shooter might not be for you?
Shut the fuck up clarky clarky dont start your shit this time.

If you dont know what a radio button is then go educate yourself.

Shortly after the game's 1.0 build went live, a subsequent update on December 1 added a new map called Terminal. This was set to be the final map in the game.

It's through Terminal that players are now able to make their way out of Tarkov and effectively 'end' the story.

At the tail end of their "movie" like run that left them "losing [their] voice" in sheer excitement, Tigz became the first to see one of these new endings on December 2. However, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows on the other side.

As it turns out, there are four unique endings for Tarkov players to try and track down. For Tigz, he escape, but Tarkov was nuked, and the enemy faction reformed in its ashes. He "ran for the sake of survival, chose the path of a runaway," as the game put it.

According to Tarkov Director Nikita Buyanov, it's the "second worst" of the four available endings. You can assume the best would be an ending where Tarkov isn't nuked.

"The first who will complete the game with the Best Ending will definitely have something special from me," Buyanov teased on X (formerly Twitter).

For now, the hunt continues as players unravel the secrets hidden away on the Terminal map, all in hopes of achieving the mysterious 'Best' ending. No matter who comes after, though, Tigz can always hold the claim of being the first player in the world to truly escape Tarkov.
