EU DS Pricedrop?

Has there been any indication of when (if ever) NOE is going to follow NOA's lead and drop the DS price? Or even introduce a bundle deal as happened stateside?

Failing either of those, is there anywhere in Europe selling the DS at anything significantly below £99?

i believe it is gonna drop yes

GameStation in the UK sell second hand models with a game for £89.
You can get a game with the machine at £99 already in some stores... in a way that's already a kind of price drop.

I can't see anything below £80-89 with GB Micro set to come out at £69.

I do think you'll see worthwhile bundles towards Christmas though. Hopefully there's a Mario Kart pack to spark interest in online..

I doubt there will be a pricedrop anytime soon, perhaps a slight drop or a value bundle for the holiday season. If you want a cheap PAL DS you should order from Crave. The price is £82.50.

Some guy that works for jeux-france posted here that the ds will drop to 99 euros in early september.

Nintendo won't drop the price until the PSP starts raping the DS in Europe. The raping should commence any day now but knowing how slowly Nintendo reacts to everything you probably won't see a price drop until February of next year.

That would make me hop off the fence instantly. It's the fear of something like that happening soon that stops me from making the purchase.

Had a bad experience with the N64 and price drops.

Whoa, that's like £67... seems like a rather large drop? Surely if they drop it it won't go down THAT much? Not that I'd complain if it did, I'd buy one like a shot at that price.

I was waiting for a price drop too before buying a ds, but then i saw that hot red ds.
Nintendo better release the red ds in europe.

A pricedrop is nice, but what they really need to do is release the good games in Europe. The lineup is still very subpar - no Meteos, no Kirby, let alone Advance Wars, Nintendogs, etc. Sure, they're scheduled to be released quite soon, but it's gone through months with nothing on the shelves but Mario64 & WarioWare to really entice consumers. Sure, Feel the Magic, ZooKeeper, etc are all nice short decent games, but you need meatier stuff to convince people to get a DS. The PSP with its excellent launch titles will be out before the good DS stuff are, and that really is poor timing on Nintendo's part.

I import those games, but Joe Consumer only knows what's on the shelves - and Urbz, Pokemon Dash, Atari Classics, Ridge Racers DS just doesn't cut it.

There's a good DS deal at http://www.boots.com/ for today only. IF you have a Boots advantage card (although I think you can sign up for a digital one online if you don't).

There's a few Bundles but as an example -

If you buy the standalone DS for £94.99 you get triple points and 1000 bonus points (worth a total of £21.40) enter this code whenchecking out - PPCB86 and you get another 1500 points (£15.00).

So you get you DS for £94.99 including delivery and £36.40 back in points to spend in-store.

Basically you are getting a brand new DS for £ 58.60

Works on other consoles as well, you can get a standalone Xbox for around £63.

Can you then use those points to buy a game off their website? If not, then I don't think I'll bother. I do have a Boots advantage card though; back when I worked in Sunderland, Boots was the cheapest place to get a "meal deal" for lunch (sandwich + drink + packet of crisps) so I got myself an advantage card as I went there nearly every day to get lunch.

Unfortunately not, only in-store.
