Every 10 minutes Xbox360 giveaway thread

my brother recieved the one I won for him today :D he got Kameo too but didn't receive any letter at all, no congrats, nothing.

Indeed. The way I look at it:

I won $510 worth of stuff (Xbox 360 premium pack + Kameo + Madden) (not including taxes or the party in a box thingy). I could get a SHITLOAD of cash if I were to sell this baby online, but instead, I'm going to sell the $510 worth of stuff for $400.

Maybe I'll tell me brother he can pay me $200 now and $200 later.

Uh... that can't be good.

I've had mine since Monday. So far I've resisted playing, hopefully I can make it until exams are done.

Halo 2 worked for me as soon as I put it in the Xbox. Is that ones stored on the HD or something?
1 and 2 are the only games ready to go off the harddrive. The rest need to be downloaded, which last I checked doesn't work yet.

OK first impressions.

I was able to sign up for xbox live "silver" and there is a free 1 month gold membership waiting. Hopefully it will still be available when I want to try it. Damn did they ask for a lot of info - phone number, home address, the whole bit. Took a while to complete.

I was impressed how easy it was to get online, and connected to my pc. I had to install Windows Media Connect on my PC. But everything was automatic and I was soon watching a slideshow of family pictures with my MP3's playing in the background. My wife was even impressed. We thought how easy it would be to create a musical slideshow to show other people, even though they would be annoyed having to sit through it. Its true, only pictures and music files are accessible, not ALL media. Unless you have Windows Media Center Edition, which I'm just going to have to try one of these days on a test box.

Kameo - I had fun playing for about an hour just now. Not a lot of anything at the beginning, a flimsy setup that takes about 10 secs then you are in the game. Apparently your goal is to get to the top of a tower to save your family. Thats it. Visually and gameplay wise it reminds me a lot of Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. Minimal dialog - lots of hints that are scrolled at the bottom of the screen to help you get along. Not even that good looking, I'd say xbox quality. there is one cool feature though where the enemy blood splatters on the tv screen and drips down. It is fun playing as 4 different creatures (they give you all of them up front). But we'll see if later on I am not bored.

I am impressed though, that I am still getting NFS anyway!

Tried playing DVDs on it, that worked fine too. I might take my existing DVD player out of the ent. center and use it elsewhere, but truthfully I am worried about my kids boogering up the xbox. I should just leave the other DVD player there for them to fuck up.

There is a nice Family feature where you can set limits for your underage family members - game ratings, DVD movie ratings, etc.

The wireless controller. I am impressed there too. No need to set a channel like the wavebird. xbox can automatically assign 1 of the 4 slots right when you power it on. And the green circle on the controller has 4 90 degree quadrants that light up individually that show you which slot you are in. As a cool side feature, the battery compartment houses the batteries attached to the cover, so when you pull off the battery cover the batteries come with it. I suppose it is good for things like airline travel - the manual actually tells you to remove your batteries for flying because your RF signals could signal the end of the world or something.

The manual doesn't really explain much, I was a bit surprised by this. A lot of it was safety warnings and suggestions like "sitting on your headseat could break it!" (actually in there!) but the rest is like, "if you want to know more about x, go to www.xbox.com/x". But then again, everything was really easy to do so it wasn't a bad thing.

The HD attached to the side of the main unit - but it is shaped like a cool form factor, it looks like part of the console itself. In fact there is nothing not sleek about this thing. No controller slots up front, only 2 memory card slots, but I don't even need those.

The only bad thing I found so far is that there was a clear shipping sticker across the DVD tray. I couldn't even see it so I tried to open the CD tray and it looked like it was broken for a second. But then I removed the sticker and it left some sticker sticky stuff on the DVD tray. Since it is some kind of metal I am afraid to scrape at the thing to get the sticky stuff off, that it might get scratched.

Other then that, 4 stars.
