With PlayStation VR2 or PSVR2 releasing in less than 2.5 months from now, I thought it would be helpful to the group of people who are buying, pre-ordered, or thinking about buying the PSVR2 at launch or within a few months from launch, to have a guide as to what exactly is going to be coming out on the thing. That way people don't go in blind without really knowing what's being offered, and until Launch, maybe a bit after, this thread will be occasionally updated with new announcements as they come. I got horizon, prob gonna get moss book 1 and 2.

it's a crazy year for games in 2023 so im not sure how much ill spend on VR2 games

I’m getting mine on day 1 but with no games since I own Village and PSVR1 games that I’m hoping *some* will be ported.

Do we know that Moss I and II are being ported?

Yes Moss 1 & 2 are getting significant upgrades to the visuals and controls for day 1

Unfortunately there’s no free upgrade if you already own them though

They shouldn’t have released Moss II for the PSVR1. They should’ve waited and release a PSVR2 version as a launch title.

Sucks that you can’t upgrade the first one.

Cities Skylines whaaaaaaaaaaattttt. I didn't know that was a thing. Hope that has a flat mode tho because I'd want to do sessions non vr, too.

I also didn't realize Pavlov was there. That's a get.

This is strong lineup for launch. I just pre-ordered the set with horizon because I want to see what this thing can do.

That moss bundle is pretty good too. I wanted to play them but never got around to it.

Yeah lol Moss 2 was sent to die

I never played moss 1 despite owning psvr and getting it for free with ps plus

I just couldn’t be arsed to hook psvr1’s cable mess up to play it

I hear it’s great though so can’t wait to play it

Moss 1 is great, but haven't played 2 yet. It will be my first time playing Village. I also waited to play RE7 until I had VR and I'm so glad I did.

Haven't played Saints & Sinners yet, but have heard it's damn good so I'll be grabbing both of those for PSVR2.

Cities Skylines is already out on PS4 if you want that now (though there isn't yet a native PS5 version; maybe it'll happen alongside this new PSVR2 game?)

Also, technically, this is Cities VR, not Cities Skylines. It's a VR adaptation of Cities Skylines. (Not sure what's different other than the interface? Also I assume the DLC package set is incompatible.) Cities VR came out for Quest last April, and I don't believe there is a PC version yet, so this would be the biggest home release after Quest.

Fantavision 202X is also playable as a standard PS5 flatscreen game, although the VR support feature does sound like one of the coolest parts (as does the fact that they timed the release day-and-date with PSVR2.) It's something of a sequel/remake, built on Unreal Engine.

(The original Fantavision is also available for PS4, upresed and with Trophies, but 202X is probably going to be a much better buy and it's just around the corner...)

I think you have Ghostbusters VR there twice unless there are two titles coming in the launch window (launch day vs launch window might be a better separation). Some more titles already added by posters in the thread and mostly for launch day ;).

I will try to get it and retire my PSVR1 and the PS4 Pro (can gift them to someone, not using PSVR1 with the PS5 because the mess with no HDR and no 4K@120 Hz with HDR in the breakout box).

I’m still holding on to the vain hope that a GT7 VR mode is introduced soon, but in the meantime, I’ll likely be playing Horizon, S&S1 and 2, Moss 1 and 2 and NMS VR. I may give RE:V a try, but doubt I’ll last long before I nope the hell out of there, just like with RE7 VR - managed to get to the part where you are chased by the nut job in the house but I couldn’t find a key for the trapdoor in the panic 😂

I be had cities on PC since it came out but I was hoping the one coul flip back and forth from vr on the same Dave game. Sounds that that might be a no. Thanks for the info!

He says that RE8 is "crystal clear" in the headset and looks exactly the same as it does on the flat screen, but in way more immersive/impressive VR and thinks it looks even better.

Going to be a big jump for me coming from PSVR1. All I remember is RE7 looked ugly/muddy as hell.

Do you get LESS disoriented/dizzy when the visual clarity is better?

This is a HUGE deal. I don't think people realize how big this is.

Now if only more developers can support PS VR2. Imagine Gran Turismo 7 in VR with the same fidelity as the flat version, Avatar 2 in PS VR 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwart's Legacy, Final Fantasy, RDR 2, GTA 6, etc.

There's just insane potential if PS VR 2 becomes more mainstream and big devs start supporting it.

Yep. The vast majority people don't realize the VR could become the "IMAX" of videogeims.

As you said. Some people's big wet dream would be live inside harry potter's world. A VR mode would enable that.

I'd never come out of Avatar's Pandora if it had a full PS VR2 version. I feel this is the natural progression of the gaming medium.

All attempts were always in service of making the games feel more realistic and immersive, and it doesn't get more realistic or immersive than gaming in high-fidelity VR.

Exactly. Videogames motto has always being immersion. VR is just the natural next step.

But also has a lot of potential for the competitive scene:

Racing in VR just feel natural especially on curves where you actually are looking at the apex for example

Gaze aiming could also become a paradigm shift in game design and detrhone the "mouse and keyboard" for FPS.

While we wait for more news closer to launch I found a lost of all the games that will be doing interesting stuff with Eyetracking.​

1. Firewall Ultra​

In a PlayStation Blog Post, developer First Contact Entertainment explains that Firewall Ultra uses eye tracking to let you select weapons from the weapon wheel and bring up HUD elements. You can see this in action in the short clip above.

2. The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR​

In a recent Edge Magazine article (issue 380, February 2023) the article’s author, who has played a demo of The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, seems pretty enthused by a particular eye-tracking feature in the game. The author explains that during the game there is a door with the words ‘don’t blink’ painted on it. The door opens up to a room filled with mannequins in Harlequin masks, bodies twisted into unnatural poses. Unable to stop himself from blinking, the author blinks and when his eyes open again the mannequins are rearranged in different positions – either by someone or perhaps themselves. With another blink, the same happens but this time a mannequin has come to life.

The author further explains that as they repeat the process (of blinking) they learn to use their eyes tactically, only blinking once their guns are readied. The author calls this particular eye-tracking feature in The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR “a strange, startling application of the tech.”


3. Tentacular​

In previous versions of the game on other VR platforms players interacted with the games’ villagers by tapping them on the head with a tentacle. But in the PS VR2 version, you just need to look at a villager and tap a button. The article states that Cubasch was reluctant to use this feature at first, worrying that it might take away some of the game’s charm. “But when we implemented it, we realised how elegant it was.” “It really helped us fix something we were trying to fix but couldn’t before,” Cubasch said.

The developers also explained Tentacular’s eye-tracking feature in a previous PlayStation Blog Post.

Firstly, Eye Tracking allows you to interact with the inhabitants of La Kalma by simply looking at them. Yes, your enormous, tentacled frame will finally catch people’s attention with nothing more than, well, a look! Choosing whether to accept a task from one of the town’s inhabitants is as simple as looking at the YES or NO option

4. Moss & Moss: Book II​

With Moss & Moss: Book II on PS VR2 you only have to look at an object and it will subtly glow. Eye tracking is also used to let Quill know where players are looking.
Interactive objects now emit a subtle glow when looked at. This allows players to quickly spot interactive objects during puzzles and throughout the game. Eye tracking also informs Quill where players are looking so she can offer hints if she figures something out before them.

5. Demeo​

Resolution Games’ PS VR2 launch title Demeo also uses eye tracking to add a bit of magic to the game’s menus. Writing on PlayStation Blog, Resolution Games explains that players will be able to select things in Demeo’s menus using eye tracking.

Thanks to hardware-level eye tracking capabilities, we’ll also be able to bring a little magic to our menus: PS VR2 players will be able to make selections in Demeo’s menus with little more than the blink of an eye. It’s a surprisingly fast experience that gets you into your next game in no time flat.

In Cosmonious High eye tracking is used to make your character’s eyes move or blink, and you can see this in mirrors or when taking a photo.

Utilizing the headsets eye tracking software, players’ eyes move and blink as they do in mirrors or when taking their photo — just make sure not to blink!

I'm going to keep an eye out on how well Demeo does. It's a solid game, but I believe it could be the start of something bigger if it sells well.

At first I wasn't getting why you would want to play a tabletop game in vr. Then I remembered what it's like to play tabletop and it is a lot of grabass lol. I think I understand the positive reviews, now.

Come on Clap Hanz... ...let me know Everybody's Golf is going to be ported to PSVR2. At minimum give me the Apple Arcade game in VR (It's actually not bad for a very casual golf game).

I feel like developers have been trying to crack this nut for a while. I love the idea but it probably won't succeed until someone ports something more open like foundry or roll20 to VR with solid DM capabilities.

Lonn looks like it could be good. It's a single player cyberpunk style campaign with interaction similar to boneworks. Free movement and climbing and juggling crowbars that sort of thing.
