EVO 2012 Thread 2 Because one thread wasnt enough to hold all the hype and the salt

What a weekend!

I've spent whatever time watching EVO. Been glued on to my computer all weekend living up to my username, LOL. But damn, seeing KOF being so hyped with the second highest amount of views today made me happy. Especially at the end when everybody chanting King of Fighters. Brought a manly tear to my eye.

The old school Street Fighter tournament was super free as well. Can't believe most people didn't catch this cause it was a sight to see.

MVC3 really did a good job this year but fuck you Champ! LOL! Chris G never gets a fucking break.

I liked the Virtua Fighter Top 3. Wish we could see more of that and I'm not a VF player. SCV was alright actually. I won't miss it next year but I really won't miss SFxT. God, that game is horrible. MK was mad fun to spectate too.

SFIV was good, not great compare to last years hype. Props to Infiltration but damn, if only they ran the event a little bit closer to schedule, they're would of been more hype. Probably the biggest dissapointment this year in my book. I think we won't see The Beast that we knew anymore.

Can't wait to see what games are gonna be added next year. Take out SCV and SFxT most definitely. TTT2 would be a shoe in next year. Who the hell knows about Injustice, interesting game though. DOA5, LOL! Skullgirls maybe (how was the side tourny?) P4: Arena might be a lock in too. EVO clearly needs they're dual setup again to run the event a little smoother having one setup ready as soon the other setup match is over. They always been late but this year is ridiculous.

It was fun posting with you guys, I'm beat and want to go outside now. Thanks everyone for making this weekend fun and lets do it again next year!

EMP after hours is always the best entertainment.
SKYPE CALL INS LETS GO.

Reposting panel info.
Stream 3 had some pretty great content the past two days. Thought it'd be cool to collect it all and tidy it up!

INDIE GAME PANEL - approx 1 hour. The very start doesn't seem to be archived.

---

CROSSCOUNTER EVO PREVIEW - Start at 2hrs for, I dunno, half an hour to an hour's worth of Ross, Gootecks and Zhi that was on a long loop.

CAPCOM PANEL - same link as above, 00h:30m to 02h:00m

---

ULTRACHEN TV w/ FANATIQ - This was awesome, really, really interesting. Starts at around 23minutes, lasts for about an hour and a half.

---

THE LEVEL|UP EXPERIENCE - starts at around 12 minutes. Haven't watched this yet. Hosted by MarkMan, chatting with Alex Valle, AJ and the behind the scenes crew. With bonus Offcast. Lasts an hour.

PLAYSTATION ALL-STARS - Chatting with Superbot. Starts at around 02h15m. Lasts ~90 minutes.

---

ASSIST ME! - Maximillian, Dr Doom, Phoenix, X-23 and Wesker Q&A. Starts with an intro film that was far too distracting as a thumbnail during Marvel yesterday. Skip to around 35 minutes in. 90 minutes long.

This dude speaks like a ghetto Architect from the Matrix. 10 cent vocabuary with a 5 cent mind. I am INVESTED in this shit.

I doubt we'll see it, but I would love to see Daigo and Infil run it back in a FT5. Hell, I just want to see if anybody can test Infil right now. He's beyond human right now.

Easily the most boring SFIV finals in EVO history. Infiltration looked more dominate than even Daigo in '09 and '10, but overall everyone in the top 8 looked pretty bored by the proceedings and there wasn't any drama in any of the matches.

It really was. Infiltration was the only guy even playing up to his potential and it made for an awkward ending to a very hype day.

Hey guys! Can anyone link the top8 marvel stream archives or youtube stuff from it if possible, without any spoilers? I wanted to wake up in the middle of the night for it, but I have just reset my biological clock to sleep at 0:00 and wakie-wakie at 8am, so I did not wanna mess it up again -.-

I agree with you to a certain extent. Beatdowns in SF4 are not fun to watch, but when it's close I think it's arguably the most exciting game to watch. As for beat downs in other games, depending on the game it can still be exciting, but only to a certain point. If Champ was blew away Infrit in GF 6-0 or had Balla finished off Mad KOF 3-1, you think people would have called that a great GF? It would have been considered boring and terrible way to end things. So yeah I agree KOFXIII and Marvel 3 look better in that aspect, but it's still not great to watch. ST, KOF, and Marvel top 8 were great because most of the matches were close and competitive.

KOF also for me got the 'haven't really watched much of it/fresh' boost. Sanford vs Dieminion is also good to watch...the first time.

I just want to see more Daigo. For some reason I don't feel like he will keep playing, or at least internationally, much longer

The SSFIV final was a bit dissappointing, but good thing all the other finals lived up to the hype. The real eye opener to me was KOF. Never thought I'd be so entertained by a game I don't follow.

Fucking Triforce.

How does he continue to trick kids into letting him take their money. Haven't they watched King of Chinatown? He's a complete fraud.

On a lighter note:

:lol Tasteless's tweet.

SUP! I'M NESTEA!

SSFIV:AE Finals.. was so different from last year.

Where's the flag? Where's the ultra bright background? I felt it was so dark during the stage.

Ehh.... grats to Korea I guess.

Agreed, I'm not a fighting game player, and I haven't watched a fighting game tournament before, but I watched Day 1 out of interest, but there was definitely more tension and drama in those early matches - That Poonkgo "IT DID NOT CHIP" match vs Humanbomb and Daigo's astounding comebacks vs Gamerbee - were incredible.

He pretty much only has Jeron and Sanford now. Evil Rashaan just left. All the other guys left and look at how much successful they are.

I don't know if this makes any sense, but from the way he plays AE, it seems like he doesn't like it very much. Those (usually failed) psychic DPs seem like his way of saying, 'This shit is too random now.'
