EVO 2012 Thread 2 Because one thread wasnt enough to hold all the hype and the salt

To be honest I had no intention of watching EVO this year, considering I don't find myself very interested in fighting games (mainly because I suck). But after wandering onto the stream on Giantbomb, I found myself completely engrossed. Watching those KoF/MK/UMVC3 finals were quite an experience. Can't wait for next year.

This Triforce stream is also pretty entertaining lol.

So you guys think there'll be 6 games next year as well?

I'm thinking Persona 4 Arena and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (replacing Soul Calibur V) will be in, but Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter X Tekken are likely going, and I don't think Injustice will be out early enough to make it.
But then again, they could get moneyhatted.

He pretty much only has Jeron and Sanford now. Evil Rashaan just left. All the other guys left and look at how much successful they are.

Don't they have dragongod still? And Rashaan left ? wow

This empire arcadia show, and then this guy likens his show to Jackass.

"Y'ALL WATCHIN ME, YOU MAKIN ME FEEL GDLK, I DON'T CARE IF YOU HANG YOURSELF I'M GONNA MAKE MONEY TOMORROW I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU"

quid pro quo, QED, ABC.

empire arcadia supports america!!!!

Easily the most boring SFIV finals in EVO history. Infiltration looked more dominate than even Daigo in '09 and '10, but overall everyone in the top 8 looked pretty bored by the proceedings and there wasn't any drama in any of the matches.

EVO is at it's most interesting when there is a dominant favourite, and hungry underdogs. While Infiltration certainly fit the former, nobody seemed as hungry in SSF4 to come up this year as Wolfkrone/Poongko did last year.

I love EVO. I don't even play fighting games anymore but I still watch every year along with various other tourneys. So good.

Dude, Marvel was mad hype. It was Marvel > KOF >>>> AE.

Maybe for you, but not for me. Wong and Combofiend were mostly disappointing (and these two can actually make magic happen with legendary comeback) and matches were filled with sloppiness or mistakes. If you follow Tennis, it would be like matches where there's a crapload of unforced errors and that tend to deflate the hype and excitement among the crowd and viewers at home even if the score is rather even.

This is one of the reason why KOF ended up being better, since the game demand a very high level of execution to begin with. Dudes were on freaking point and the tension was constant since one hit confirm or dropped combo could mean the end of the game in one way or another.

The Best "Swag" moment of evo!

MameSpider vs Clockwork was GODLIKE!

Triforce keeps asking why we support EVO over MLG. Does he not realized that Capcom runs shit and MLG won't over take them til Capcom games are allowed there.

I wonder if Injustice will be as successful as Mortal Kombat was last year.
The Capcom crowd tried getting into it last year, and they had over 500 entrants or something, but it looks like that they no longer care as much, hence like 1/2 the number of entrants this year, despite the large pot bonus from WB.

I have a feeling he's going to leave eventually too. And by those two, I mean those living in the arc.

Naw PL and Tom Brady are pretty loyal. I mean unless somebody big comes up and tries to pickup PL (again) he's sticking with EMP. I do know PL and Triforce are on good terms, he did let triforce stay at his family's place during that one tournament.

My friend just linked me to this and I have no idea what this guy is talking about at all. The... dark ages...?

Watching the KOF archive and holy shit is it intense. I feel bad for missing it live.
It really was. My cousins were watching it earlier. They haven't been into KoF lately, but that whole stream made them enthusiastic enough to consider picking up KoFXIII later this week. Really, I'm not a big online fighting game player, but man, the tournaments are quite exciting and something nice to have on in the background.

Well time to sleep and also all that triforce stream that i cant watch right now better be archivated or youtubed for tomorrow sounds hillarious. Good night folks.

Given the circumstances, PL would leave, he has before. PL is still a youngin living with his family so his options are go with someone or nobody at all. If he can get himself into a proper team or group, I think he would leave. And by proper I mean proper. Not something like DMG where benefits are limited.

I doubt it. It wasn't for lack of trying, either. They threw tons of money into the PDP tournament, and Valle was championing the shit out of it at WNF, but even that only went so far.

I wonder if the Koreans victory at EVO will motivate some companies over there to support there players? I remember in a interview from last year Laugh said that in order for that to possibly happen, either he, Infiltration, or Poongko has to win EVO. This year Infiltration won SF4, Mad KOF won KOFXIII, and Infil/Laugh won SFxT. Infiltration won the biggest game of this event and defeated the most popular and well known player in the history of SF to get there. Will this mean anything at all? Or will Tekken continue being the only fighter that they will sort of care about.
