I'm looking to expand my PS4 hard drive so I don't have to worry about deleting apps anymore, but what's the best one to use that's affordable? Should I go external or internal?

With the new firmware, you can use external drives upto 8TB if I'm not mistaken. The speeds on any decent external drive will also match the internal drive.

Easiest way to go.

Stupid question, but does the PS4 Pro support any external hard drive?

To the best of my knowledge the only limitations are a minimum size and the file system formatting. The size should not be a problem unless you're using a really old drive. The format needs to be exFAT which is common, and you can easily reformat it to exFAT using Windows.

External is definitely easier, but I'm still a fan of replacing the internal drive. I've got enough stuff plugged into my entertainment system.

Whilst we are asking, mind if i ask a few

If you Use External for games, you can't use internal for games as well ? One or the other right?

What about if i use external for my british (main) account can i then put my american games on my internal drive

Don't know about british/american accounts .. it doesn't work that way.

but you can use both .. using external doesn't disable your internal drive functionality or anything like that. For example, I have a 250GB USB SSD on my Pro. I have a bunch of games copied on the internal drive and a bunch on the external. I can run any game from either any time I want to.

You can also choose which of the drives is selected as the default location for new game/demo downloads and installations, or copy things back and forth whenever you want to.
