So, so awesome.

this game really does look awesome, love the horror atmosphere that you could see in the E3 2004 trailer.

"The game is scheduled for release later this year" ... so it will be launched around Q3/Q4 2005? :(

Doesn't look as impressive as the earlier single player screenshots, infact by todays PC standards they look pretty lackluster, but im sure it'll look alot better in time to come and it looks better in motion.

RE4 OWNS THIS :P

The french website nofrag.com has an interview with Kevin Stephens, technology director at Monolith, about Fear. He says the game is planned for Q2. He also mentions the Tron 2.0 team is working on a new yet announced game.

This screen disagrees with you :

Edit: This screen is indeed one released during the last E3. The new one at gamespot do not show any event where we could see the dynamic/self shadowing in action.

Now they have the power to make a proper Blood sequel with flying heads bouncing around and all.

DO IT MONOLITH, DO IT!!!

isnt that one of the earlier screens he mentioned? Definetily looks better than the others.
Well from the screenshot name I would say it's a fairly new one, but of course they could have included some old shots in the latest press kit.
I doubt they removed the dynamic shadows though ;)

Wheres the shadow for the guy dying?
Nice catch, I was wondering what was wrong with this image since I first saw it. Very strange only one model is missing shadows like this.

Lots of lighting errors and clipping in the screenshots, the engine looks buggy at the moment.

And I'm shocked that nobody yet bitched about the plastic looking bumpmapped models. *gasp* Oh I forgot, this isn't a Doom 3 engine game, hating it isn't cool yet.. *rolls eyes*

He is dead. Most probably dead bodies don't cast shadows (but it could be a glitch)
Not having a shadow while lying motionless on the ground is one thing, but while flying after a kick in the head in another matter. It's obviously a glitch, like the dynamic shadows and the static ones going in 2 different directions in an old HL2 screenshot.

I have seen that shot some time ago and was pretty impressed by it. At first I didnt even realze the first three shots were from the same game.

True, I've edited my first post to say that the one I had posted was from last E3. If you go to gamespot screenshot page there a few images quite a bit nicer looking than the ones Funky Papa put here, but none show the excellent shadowing displayed in the one I posted. I still doubt this has been taken out of the game though.

to me, it's this game's particles that are the show-stoppers...not it's shadows

still...what the hell is up with the downgrade in visuals? probably a multiplayer only thing....right? right??
