That’s a weird mood for a f1 game trailer.

No gameplay footage at all for a game shipping in July. I've got two guesses as to what this game will be at launch.

A) F12020 with some updates

B) Delayed

The press release already said Portimão, Imola, and Jeddah will be post launch content. The game can’t even include tracks in the 2021 season at launch.

I completely forgot option C for modern games

C) Unfinished with "free content updates" that should have been included in the original release

This is another type of game like fifa that should allow you to buy the new season as dlc if you own the previous years game.

Yearly full releases makes me not buy them as I know in a year its done for.

My thoughts exactly, wtf, I thought it was going to go full soap opera and have one of the CGI mannequins pushing another down a lift shaft :messenger_tears_of_joy:

When the "breaking point" text changed to "braking point" I couldn't breathe from laughing for a few seconds as well.

They're too scared to show gameplay because it probably looks the same as last year and they know how unforgiving internet can be. The way they operate (charging people full price for yearly DLC) it's only right EA owns them.

still no gameplay, but new trailer showing myteam drivers you get with a preorder.

Michael Schumacher - 94
Ayrton Senna - 94
Alain Prost - 93
Jenson Button - 90
Nico Rosberg - 89
David Coulthard - 87
Felipe Massa - 86

It’s neat to have Senna and Prost, but probably won’t sign them since it’s too unrealistic.

During an early press preview event for F1 2021, ComicBook.com heard from franchise director Lee Mather, who pulled back the curtain on this year's massive new story mode.

"So the big headline feature for F1 2021 is the Braking Point story feature," Mather explained. "It's something that we've toyed with in the past, back in 2019, when we have the feeder series into Formula One, go through Formula Two and it's something that we wanted to continue to grow and do more with, especially with the popularity and the excitement that people have been having around the Netflix Drive to Survive series. We thought this was a great opportunity to really capitalize on that in the game."

The new Braking Point story is going to follow a character named Aiden Jackson, a driver that starts out in Formula Two and works their way up to F1. There will be an actual story accompanying your rise as Aiden, with narrative cut scenes and an actual plot throughout.

"It's a story experience where the player will play through a really beautifully written story, full of exciting characters and drama. And that's driven very much by the behind the scenes action that we've seen in the likes of Netflix, Drive to Survive," Mather continued.

"So you start in Formula Two, again, it's a journey story, starting out as Aiden Jackson, a young up-and-coming driver, completing his Formula Two career, moving into the world of Formula One in the 2020 season before finally moving into '21 and graduating as a fully fledged Formula One driver. It's not also just about Aiden, there's other characters in there. So we've also got a character called Casper Ackerman. Ackerman is a more mature driver. He'd come into the end of his career is fighting with the demons as to whether he should still be in the sport. And of course, there's also the team bosses around as well. You've got to have a team boss they're important for the running of the team, the management of the drivers."

One of the side characters that will play a part in Braking Point is Devon Butler, the fan-favorite villain from F1 2019.

"Something I haven't mentioned is the return of Devon Butler. So when we did the feeder series in F2, 2019, Devon became an instant star," said Mather. "We put a lot of time and effort into building a villain, so to speak and he's returned in this really does continue to show his true colors. So we're really excited to see how people duel with the story, how they enjoy the interaction between the characters, but also the visual spectacle that I think we've put together for this."

In addition to this new, innovative story mode, F1 2021 will also be adding a layer to its regular career mode. In this year's game, a multiplayer career mode will be available, allowing two players to work together or compete against one another as they rise through the F1 ranks.

"It's a complex multiplayer system, which requires two players to be participating in what is essentially a very strong single player career experience previously," Mather revealed. "And the way this works is you can choose to team up with a friend and race on the same team and compete to become Formula One champions. Or alternatively, you can take the route of racing on separate teams and then the contract system will come into play. So you may even find yourself meeting on the same team further into your experience, but again, it's whether you want to play cooperatively or whether you want to play versus with a friend. And this will bring into play all of the cool features that we've got in the career that you'll experience over the previous games in the single player experience. So driver rivalries meet the press, developing the car, all of those things will play out as a part of the two-player career."

An "announcement" trailer for a yearly released game and we can't even get gameplay footage?
Look up on YouTube, there's plenty of previews with hours of gameplay, codemasters always give the community preview codes weeks before the release of the game.

My post was made almost two months ago. The gameplay footage was only uploaded on Youtube a few days ago...

We recently got the chance to ask several questions about the upcoming racer in an interview with franchise game director Lee Mather, who confirmed what resolution and frame rate the game will be targeting on next-gen consoles. Mather confirmed that on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, F1 2021 will feature a Graphics Mode and a Performance Mode, which will see the game running at 4K and 60 FPS and 1440p and 120 FPS respectively.

Meanwhile, on the Xbox Series S, the game is going to have only a single visual mode, which will target a 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.

Reviewed on Xbox Series X by Luke Reilly. Also available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

"F1 2021 is the best-looking and most customisable instalment of the long-running Codemasters series to date, and the ability to tinker under the hood of the core career experience and play co-op with a friend is very welcome. With the addition of Braking Point it's also arguably the boldest F1 game so far. The characterisation is a little underdone and the E for Everyone approach means it's quite an airbrushed take on the F1 world compared to Netflix's tense and profanity-laden Drive to Survive, but injecting a story mode into the F1 series was a risk well worth taking and I'm certainly looking forward to more of it."

So i have the Deluxe edition on both PS5 and XsX impressions so far

  • Game has a Performance and Quality mode
  • Ps5 out of the box is put on performance mode which im presuming is 60fps and locked to that count..game looked fuzzy and not much of an improvement over last year..quality mode looks much better but i think they just upped the res and turned off the framecap as it felt jerky
  • XsX is on quality mode out of the box...i could not really tell the difference to the ps5 version resolution wise in this mode but the game runs much smoother and if you have a VRR tv set its smooth as silk...the performance mode looked almost exactly the same as performance mode which is strange
  • Dual sense support is simply stiff triggers...it is actually a hinderance if you drive with no assists on as you cant feather the brake and accelerator as well..i turned it off
  • Had a crack with my g29 wheel and it felt pretty good
  • No Crossplay...you can play within your console family
  • Multiplayer lobbies seem to be pretty active already ..noticed quite a few ps lobbies up and Xbox had quite a few up as well so hopefully a good community will form once the full game releases
  • Car handling seems to be a little more forgiving than last year providing you dont hit the curbs ..if you do that around a corner you will almost likely end up the opposite way
  • Braking point is actually pretty good so far....first time in a while i have seen a good addition like this to an f1 game
anyone has any questions im happy to answer

Wait, so Imola and Portimao aren't in the launch version? How is this acceptable? They should've delayed the game if they couldn't prepare them in time rather than promising them in future updates.

Some of the tracks are straight copies of the last years game with different textures also

It would be nice to have these at release, but the tracks weren’t even on the schedule when this season started.

I’m bummed there’s no classic cars anymore. It was fun driving a screaming Ferrari or redbull.
