I've seen people mention friends in their status and the name of that friend is highlighted as a link to his profile. How do you do that? I've tried but the name I've written is not a link.

You could at least answer, asshole

a) I am more than just my asshole
b) Google is your friend, I doubt you are the first one to ask this
c) I am sure there is a facebook topic somewhere here
d) There is a minor question thread

Why do you have to assume I didn't search Google? You really think making a thread is easier/more fun for me to do?

apparently since it auto-fills in my search query when I enter 'friend tag in' to 'facebook friend tag in status'

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source...q=friend++tag+in&gs_rfai=&fp=3a5ece872b8b6255

(first result is already posted here)

edit: it also finds it when you just use the keywords from your first post: 'friends name link in status facebook'

So yeah. I assume it was easier/more fun for you to make a new thread.

You realise that hovering your mouse over one of those name links would give you your answer - i guess it isn't all that obvious

"To tag someone, type @ and then the friend's name" will pop-up when you hover over it

Or hell, just ask on Facebook.
