Meh. This game really should've been a singleplayer Fallout, so that we could've had proper VATS. It's sorely missed in 76.
Couldn't agree more. I played it for a bit when I started hearing more and more positivity about it. I was shocked it just came around so hard, because I remember all the negative stories around launch. But yeah, without proper VATS it just feels like something big is missing. If it was present (a long with a few other things) I'd probably still be playing it.

That would've been so good, so many years after its release and they bring a option to play offline which does have VATS, but that probably is easier said than done. Yep, it's really missing and the real-time gunplay just isn't fun enough to last hours and hours.

It's a damn shame because I keep hearing how awesome the map actually is. But I used VATS so much in 3, 4 and New Vegas.... can't be without.

Arkane Austin patched Redfall to support offline play when they learned they were going to be shut down. Pretty soon after that, really. I suspect Bethesda could easily modify FO76 into a single player game with VATS if they really wanted to. After all, the Creation Engine games are inherently mod-friendly. And that's just for end-users.

I think they did a current gen patch for 60fps, and it was probably "good enough"

Yes, the game's been 60fps for a bunch of years now, but it was running One X and PS4 Pro settings on the respective new consoles, but looks like now they're doing a bit more, probably importing higher quality assets from the PC version.

76 is a game I'd love to get into but being an online game it's just not my cup of tea.

I guess with this being their eternal cash cow they're not interested in the cost of converting it to an offline game, so I'm out of luck. Oh well, I'll get round to Fallout London one day to scratch that itch.

Haven't played this in quite some time, but with a dedicated PS5 client and Pro support? I'll give it another go. Crossplay would be nice.
