Not really. The Q-35 isn't a bad weapon but the math favors other weapons, some guns among them. The Q-35 was definitely my "general use" weapon for EW though.

I loved the Chinese Stealth Suit in FO3, but I wasn't a big fan of the helmet. I wish that there was a mod to remove that.

Finally got the YCS/186 and I must say, I am extremely unimpressed.

The weapon looks good and feels decent enough, but the 100% crit from the Gobi still makes it a better weapon in my book.

The YCS's normal damage is supposedly higher than the Gobi's crit, yet oddly enough it does not feel that way.

Eh....my loadtimes on 360 have become extremely long....like a minute-2 minutes when going outside and like 30 seconds going in a building. (it didn't do this before)

Riot Shotgun shouldn't take too long, provided you're loaded with slugs (though I don't know if your Guns skill makes that a good idea if you're playing EW). The LMG won't be too good with their high DT and the low damage per shot.

Outside of VATS anyway, in VATS it is bugged to crap. If you're keen on VATS try to grab a Multiplas and stuff that with MC ammo. Close range crits with that are stupid. The Q-35 isn't bad, mind, and was probably the weapon I got the most mileage out of.

Or you could just cheese it up and grab a Sniper Rifle. They're stupidly broken pretty much no matter what range you're at.

Yeah they should tone down the critical hit rate at least. If you have the right perks, you can get a critical on almost every shot. The high dam, plus scope and decent firing rate pretty much makes the Sniper rifle the best gun in the game in my opinion. Gobi is even better since it uses less AP per shot.

I have guns maxed as well haha. Riot shotgun with slugs still feels weaker than q-35, but I'll try out pew-pew again. I don't like how fast multiplas drains ammo though. I mainly use guns for close range and energy weapons mid-long range because of meltdown LOL.

apparently this game has a memory leak issue.

cause after installing the game I still had excessive loading times. but clearing the cache fixed that problem.

man I hope they fix this memory leak thing in next patch

Everything is pretty much useless if you compare it to a SR/Gobi. Obsidian is not exactly known for being good at math. I'm guessing some of the old guys that worked on Fallout 2 remain, aka the same folks that designed AP ammo that used to do less damage against anything that had any kind of armor.

Just finished, some of my thoughts. (sure of them have already been discussed, but here goes!)

I'll start from the end cause that is fresh in my mind...

The battle for hover dam was really weak, felt really pathetic. Kinda sad that a good game ends on such a sad effort. And what is Gen. Oliver and Lanius only showing up at the very end for 30 seconds each? Could of been really good characters and added something to the weight of the world/story if they were introduced earlier in the game. Kind related-Killing Ceasar didn't mean anything at all. That didn't make any sense to me.

The strip was a let down, and home to one of my biggest pet peeves in the game-the forced dailogue tree everytime I entered a casino was really annoying.

The only other real complaint that I have is that Vegas/NCR/Legion were involved in everything, it didn't seem like there was a single place on the map that was just doing its own thing with its own story(like say the Republic of Dave in FO3). I liked the NRC/Legion/House conflict, it added something to teh story/world that 3 was missing but I felt it was too much.

Other than that I really enjoyed the game, it felt more like an old school xpac but worth the $50 for sure.

I loved the Mr House reveal with him in his pod, I was just expecting his brain to be hooked up to a super computer. Was surprised to see his still alive corpse and was really erie to hear him ask "Why are you doing this?"...good times.

Favorite quest was finding out who sold Boone's wife to the Legion and then setting them up for a nice head shot.

And Cass was definitely my favorite character. Loved her little phrases "shhh...we're killing shitheads"

I am actually already using the Riot Shotgun. I was hoping I could find a non-scoped weapon as broken as the Gobi.

As for EW, I am also regretting investing into that line as well. None of the weapons or perks it provides have impressed me that much (I should have gone Melee instead).

Did you take Cowboy/Hand Loader? If so, consider hunting down a Brush Gun.

Well, I decided to leave for the final battle (as it seems, but it may be not final), so I visited Gun Runners to pick up some ammo. DAMN. SO MANY NEW GUNS. I'll trade in all schlock I have for one of these beasts. Might even do the quest with them just to try it.


Also Cass is a pure beast with Pushy and +10 charisma. She brings down a huge Sentry Bot in two punches. I've traveled in mountains with her and we killed all cazadores like they were bloatflies. We did when I was level 18 by the way.

I really didn't want to stop playing this game, and the PS3 is my only option now but maybe it really is time I invest in a gaming PC. If I can work out the logistics, maybe just maybe I can get back into this game early next year if and when I get my "rig".

Its weird, I didn't really have that many problems at all on the PS3 until now. I just want to get a few more trophies/finish maxing out my characters XP before Gran Turismo hits, and last night again I had two hard locks, and 10fps moments. It absolutely sucks.

I'm just glad the PS3 version doesn't have that nasty save glitch bug, or I'd probably break this disc in half by now.

Its not a bug or memory leak. JE Sawyer posted that it has to do with Gamebryos rate of fragmentation. Clearing the cache regularly has been the suggestion since Oblivion.

I found a grand total of one power armor before I located the Brotherhood and nearly completed the game. And on THAT note, the enemies even somewhat near the end of the game typically have shit for weapons.

There is a way to get trained in Power Armor even if you don't find the Brotherhood of steel quest. It's through Arcade's companion quest.

So from the official forums, it seems I'm not the only one with HORRIFIC performance problems after the latest patch. My framerate is cut in half or more (from ~50 fps to ~20 fps outside in Goodsprings, from ~50-60 fps to ~15-20 fps inside the bar in Goodsprings.

It seems this is mostly affecting ATI cards, and many Nvidia users are actually reporting better performance after the patch...

Any other ATI users here whose game is unplayable after the patch?

Since the patch, my performance has gone to shit, I'm on a 5750. Any way to revert?

The Brotherhood is at odds with everyone. They are very different then how they were portrayed in FO3. On top of that those two groups have been at war for like 100 years or something.

I'm not sure if I follow with this, especially with FO2. There wasn't any evidence that the NCR and BoS were actually fighting each other... unless it was expanded upon during Fallout: Tactics.

I got a crash in the menu screen while trying to repair some armor. I rebooted it and tried again and the same thing happened.

Another time the screen just faded to black and kicked me out to the XMB.
