Famicom Wars DS Demo

Man, I wish it was easy and cheap to get the hardware needed for this.
Nintendo should find a way to release downloadable DS demos on Nintendo.com

all you need is a DS and a $20 compatible wireless network card

It has been posted up before in the Nintendo E3 Demo's thread, but now that there is a thread designated to this, can someone tell me what the hell goes on when playing this game? It's in real-time, wtf.

And can you only control one unit at a time? The enemy has units flying all of the place whilst I'm trying to combat them with my one measly tank.

Perhaps some people who have imported the game can enlighten us?

olimario, I picked up a compatible wireless NIC for less than $10au, just do a search within title and description on ebay for RT2560 and you might get lucky.

I'm retarded.... how do I get this on my DS?

buy a compatible ralink wireless network card (non-usb) http://ralink.rapla.net/

then download wifime & install the special driver for the wireless network card

use the wifime app to start a DS demo

turn on your DS and go into multiplayer mode and then download the demo to the DS

Can I get the compatible PCI Wi-Fi card at, say Wal-Mart? Or would I need to go to some place like radio shack? And what do I need to look for to make sure it's compatible?

http://ralink.rapla.net/

Click on the link above to see which card is compatible, only the PCI and PCMCIA cards will work. USB based device WILL NOT WORK.

I bought the Gigabyte GN-WPKG from newegg for 23 dollars, and it worked perfectly.

I'm assuming if I get one of those cards, it'll also work to play DS online when they launch their service?

No, it won't work. Nintendo will probably released their own device to enabled DS to play online.... But it's more likely that the hardware is already in the DS, the online enabled games will have the necessary software to let the DS connect to the routers or wireless device.

Yeah. thats one of the new mini/alt games included with it. It is similar to Combat for the 2600. The different vehicles have different strenths/shots/etc.. and you hover over buildings to occupy them. Not the deapest game around, but multi player is fun from what I hear...
