Those are not ports. And LCS isn't better then the console GTAs.

And I don't think LCS is going to do much to sway Japanese gamers, even if it was better than SA. Remember, we're talking about PSP's JPN library, here.

Those aren't ports; you can't honestly tell me a game like Ridge Racer is a port of Ridge Racer V?

You say most of the games that are ports are better than their PS2 counterparts and then list some games that are not ports at all? WTF is wrong with you?

Didn't Nintendo say they just needed to win back the mindshare, then that will help them out. I think the DS is doing that, and will help the Rev out. Just hope 3rd parties are on board!!

I can't see that PSP/XBox360 number being right, there must be a mix up??

GameStop Employee of the Month :lol :P

But you are right, LCS is coming to PS2. See now araganekyassuru? That is what you call a port.

Interesting...

PS3 AM KING TOTAL

...is anybody shocked?

Poor PSP though.

only am king until six months after rev comes out with COOKING MAMA REVOLUTION, then mindshare slinks off to loser status total

It is if you like Non-games ^_^

ds does it not have stronger tie-in ratios?

psp buyers are buying what? "_"

btw this survey nintendo is very strong. was n64/gbc and gc/gba this strong?

I'm getting to the point where a REV victory over the PS3 in Japan is a viable result.

That's a shocking thing to even contemplate....

50/50 chance.

I can see this happening and I can't see this happening at the same time.

Holy shit wasn't there one of these done a while back with Revolution being a lot lower?

I am probably mistaken about that, but damn it is looking like they are gonna bank this next-gen.

i know you most likely know nothing. But don't ya just hate it when people do that!!

Heh, I'm not claiming I'm an insider or anything (unlike certain people *cough*), but with all of these comments being made by developers and Nintendo themselves, it sure does sound like Nintendo and 3rd-party developers will have a lot of stuff to show at E3; after all, that's when they are planning to "blow the lid off" of the Revolution, so it only makes sense that there will be a lot there, software-wise especially.

These Famitsu surveys are never a good indicator of how things will turn out. It seems like a disproportionate amount of its readers are (ex?) Sega fans. Probably why Xbox 360 does so well.

THe one thing I find fairly interesting is that the Revolution is very near the PS3 when it comes to developer, merchant, and gamer interest.

Although I can't remember I'm sure GameCube was ranking high as well before it launched. These surveys are worthless.

It´s a pool where people vote on what they think will be the number one plataform (in salles) in 2006. Only extreme fanboys would have picked X360 or PSP for the number one. With that said, we can say japan has more X360 fanboys than PSP fanboys ^_^

I wonder how these studies will look like when people discover Revolution's secret, that is its ability to display a 3D environments with 3D glasses?
well, that's my guess. It just makes sense: no HD but can be displayed on a "monitor", "you will say wow", 3D Revmote screams for 3D display, you can find 3D glasses in Animal Crossing, etc. :D

Isn't that kind of equipment rather expensive?

Besides, I don't think Nintendo wants the risk of creating another Virtual Boy...

Cheap 3D glasses like those from the Shrek 3D DVD could do the job. I heard good things about it, as long as you have at least a 80cm TV and DVI input. Edit: Field Sequential 3-D would be even better.

This poll isn't representative, it should have been on a larger scale to really mean something. This is just a garbage poll in my humble opinion, too low for Famitsu.

Because your favorite company isn't doing to well?

Nintendo FTW. The next gen just got more interesting.

No, because a representative poll is a poll with more than 1000 people in it.

Next to that, my favorite company isn't in the list at all, since they don't make hardware anymore.

Either way, you're acting like it's ABANDON SHIP for PSP in Japan. Don't bet on it.

Besides, VP: Lenneth isn't even out yet! :D
Will VP: Lenneth be out the same day as DS Lite and Children of Mana?
If yes, I cant see it doing well because of DS Lite craze.

That is undoubtedly the worst idea they could ever possibly come up with, and no it does not make sense. Any viable 3D glasses technology that is of any noteworthy quality - that isn't flimsy Shrek crap or Sly 3 garbage - is far too expensive to use in this generation. Even those dedicated stereoscopic vision glasses that cost like 800 bucks come with terrible resolutions and other issues. Seriously, this is bad in so many different ways that if Nintendo is dumb enough to go with some lame rustic 3D goggle technology they deserve to lose just from sheer stupidity.

it's interesting the way nintendo's reputation in japan has been slowly improving over the last year or so, thanks to the huge success of ds.

the most amazing thing is this increased anticipation for revolution is happening without a single game being shown!

it's certainly approaching the right time for revolution to potentially do well.

It'll be a brisk seller, but nothing ground breaking and nothing more than a slight bump to hardware sales (if that). Probably come in around 200-250k, like Tales of Eternia last year around the same time.

Soon PSP will be a Japanese collectors item :lol

Pretty solid showing for Nintendo. Can't wait for the PS3 vs DS showdown.

Number 1 gaming machine of 2006 (Developer’s pick)

1. Nintendo DS - 49.9%
2. PS3 - 16.7%
3. Revolution - 10.0%
4. PSP - 5.0%
5. Xbox 360 - 1.7%
These people know what they're talking about. NDS > everything else combined.
Number 1 gaming machine of 2006 (Retailer’s pick)
1. Nintendo DS - 38.3%
2. PS3 - 31.5%
3. Revolution - 12.3%
4. (TIE) PSP/Xbox 360 - 1.7%
These people know what they're talking about too, but to a lesser extent.
Overall Top Platform (gamer’s pick)

1. PS3 - 40.3%
2. DS - 32.6%
3. PS2 - 11.8%
4. Revolution - 11.5%
5. Xbox 360 - 2.5%
6. PSP - 0.3%
(article states to keep in mind that gamer’s decision may have been based off of what they THOUGHT would be the number one selling system, not what they planned to purchase.)
These people don't know what they're talking about, first because of the disclaimer and second because for whatever stupid reason, PS2 is included in this list even though it's not included in the other two.
