Far Cry Instincts Confirmed for 360

i might get it for xbox360 if they do a good job of porting it, which i hope they do b/c i heard farcry: instincts is an awesome game and i loved farcry on PC
 
Well, what matters in this case is whether or not it's done well. But this GI blurb doesn't mention if the GameStop release date is anywhere near accurate. Is this going to make it as part of the 'second wave' or will interested 360 owners have to wait?

I'd have to be amazing to get me to buy it again. I loved Instincts, but if it's just a visual upgrade... I think I'll pass...

Well, it depends on how serious UBISOFT is of making this a real example of what this console can do. But it seems like UBISOFT is getting a little gung-ho about moving its games to the 360, doesn't it? This, Splinter Cell and apparently Blazing Angels before the end of the first half...
 
If they really improve it visually, I'll pick it up. I liked PC FarCry, and apparently Instincts somehow turned out better, so new FarCry + 360 controller + great visuals = buy.

Except that Splinter Cell isn't a port. It's being built from the ground-up on the 360.
 
Splinter Cell will be on the PS2/XBox/GC as well, right? If so, it's a port. But I'm interested to see if they make an effort with Far Cry or it's just like the XBox game with higher resolution textures.
 
So that's like what? 5 games in the 1st quarter?

Eb games list is so full of shit right now. I wish we had a release list we could trust for the 1st/2nd quarter.

I never said "port," I said move games. I should have said move their properties or franchises to be clear, and either way, they're moving pre-existing properties to the 360 (except for Blazing Angels, but that's a multiplatform release too if I remember correctly).

The PS2/Xbox/GC versions are the ports. They're taking what is doable from the higher-end versions and adding some exclusives, too.

Yup, still also coming to Xbox.
 
Maybe they'll actually get the PoP:TT on 360 as well, I would pick those games up for 360 eventually especially with how fast Ubi games drop in price.
 
The visual upgrade to PC levels would be spectacular. Just allow me to add more objects in the map editor as that is where the goods would be for the longevity of the game on 360.

I'd also love a difficulty slider for the single player game.

That isn't happening, theres no way that Crytek will let Ubi Soft use their game engine.

I saw it brand new for $29.99 at Gamestop. I bought it on a whim. I was NOT disappointed. Holy shit what an awesome game!

damnit ubi port the new prince of persia. i'd totally pay $60 for 720p and AN EXCLUSIVE NEW SONG BY GODSMACK. or something.
