LOVED Fatal Frame II. I gotta give mad props to Tecmo for releasing this, despite FF2 firebombing to hell. Looks pretty good, just like its predecessor.

Bah...after Tecmo's stupidity with how they released the Xbox version of Fatal Frame 2 (no fucking advertising or hype prior to release-or after-and releasing it a week from Halo 2) I hold no hope that this will see an Xbox release. Which seriously sucks cause despite the fanbase being on the PS2 the versions to get are on the Xbox. These games need 5.1 surround sound.

Here's hoping Tecmo has wised up and they'll just do a simple simultaneous ps2/xbox release in the US.

Also is that Miku in the 3rd screen? Actual sequel to Fatal Frame?

Looks good, too bad I'll never play it.

Not a huge fan of survival horror type games and Fatal Frame is the epitome of things that make me go totally batshit crazy with fear.

I loved this series and I'm really happy to see them keep on producing it. I wonder if it'll top the greatness of the previous two, hopefully the team hasn't run out of steam since they've seem to be doing this on a nonstop schedule.

I got about halfway through FF1 before I got distracted with some other games.

Scariest game ever (along with System Shock 2). I hate that ghost with the eyes gouged out that screams 'My eyes! My eyes!'

I refused to play it without the family dog present and accounted for.

I got about 5 minutes into FF2, making my way to the village and encountering the first ghost, before getting the shit scared out of me and turning it off.

FP mode in the Xbox version actually made it scarier for me.

I just bought FF1 online, can't wait to play it.

Incidentally, apparently FF1 is semi-rare these days -- new sealed copies were going for over $70. I had to settle for used.

I think they're taking this a bit too far. And it's funny how the Xbox always gets a port 6-12 months later.

I hope it's more like the 1st and less like the 2nd. Part II wasn't as scary, and I got bored halfway through.

those screens looks great. Am glad they decided to release another FF. Any hint as to a date it will come out?

Excellent. This series is a front-runner for my favorite among the survival-horror bunch. Despite having a PS2, I waited patiently for both games in their nicely Xbox-enhanced versions (and then bought those at release).

I would end up owning FF3 either way, but I'd like Tecmo to be upfront about their intentions regarding an Xbox version this time because that is where I'd like to continue the series.

So, the consensus here on FF 2 is that it's as good or better than the first?

My opinion is that is too similar, nearly a simple copy.
It's a better game than the first and could be a really amazing horror game for those who haven't played the first.
On the contrary all the people that have played the first will have a sense of deja vu for all the game which will eventually prevent them to really enjoy FF2.Even the plot has a lot of common elements.
I hope that with FF3 they actually make a new game.

never played the first two. should I pick them up... they worth it?

If you like survival horror games and can find them (both PS2 and xbox ff1/2 are pretty rare) by all means buy them.

Fatal Frame II is AWESOME, pretty much destroys its nearest competitor, Silent Hill. Haven't played FF1.
