FBAxxx: Can the CPU overclock option harm my Xbox?

Ah, I gotcha. Are there any benefits for CPS1/2 titles, then? I notice when I underclock, CPS1/2 games do run slower. Overclocked, I can't really tell the difference.

In titles with slowdown like Shikigami no Shiro (slowdown caused by lack of CPU speed), yes.

In titles developed to run at the 7.(whatever)MHz the CPS2 CPU runs at, nope.

Er...how did you play Shikigami in FBAXXX?

It does not overclock the Xbox CPU. It overclocks the emulated Neo Geo processor. At 100%, it runs at 12MHz, at 150% it runs at 18MHZ, and so on.

I didn't know that, thanks for the info.

That's hot. I imagine it works wonders in the Metal Slug games. Now, if I could only find working versions of the blasted things... seems rom compatibility with Neo Geo games is extremely flaky with Xbox emulators in particular. Anyhow, thanks for the info.
