February 05' GMR scores (final issue!)

I'm very happy to see Wanda getting love. ICO is one of the best games this generation imho and it'll be nice to see its spirtual successor do well.

I'm personally more excited for Zelda, but I would have put Wanda at #2. But seeing as how I'm incredibly stoked for both I don't really mind the positions.

Hell no. As much as I anticipate Wanda, I really doubt that it'll live up to Zelda.

* if it was something we reviewed in the issue, then it didn't make the monster list. of course RE4 would have made it.

* I would have liked to see DK:JB higher on the list, but it's not like we put it that low as punishment or anything.

* can't remember why GT4 didn't make it on there - I think we were expecting a reviewable copy to make it in time.

* killer 7, psychonauts, the movies, and starcraft: ghost would have all made their 3rd appearance on the list, so we moved them to a sidebar saying that even though they'll probably be good, we're tired of waiting for them and want new games on the list.
 
one more thing -

the monster list was never meant to be any real definitive list to be argued about like a "Top __ of ____", just a list of games coming out that we're excited about and think other people should be excited about too.
 
Seeing that Lumines came out in 2004 and is on the top of 2005 games list, does this mean it is indeed coming over to the States?

i do not believe we had official confirmation for a US publisher, but it will be. on the other hand, i do know who's publishing meteos already, oddly enough. i think there's more contention over lumines.

there's an interview with itagaki about doa4. in response to a question about doa4 and XB2:

"Xbox 2? We haven't officially said anything about DOA4 being on Xbox 2, so please relax. What I can tell you now is that the advancement on DOA4 will be as dramatic as DOA2's evolution from DOA."

God, Wanda and the Colossus looks so kick ass. I've been anticipating it since Ico. And LoZ just below it, too! GMR makes me proud, the only two games I'm anticipating and they're the top 2.

Stubbs the Zombie piqued my interest when I found out the fucking Raveonettes were on the soundtrack. HAWWWWWT!

Man, I'm gonna miss that mag. It was one of the only magazines I'd look forward to getting each month. EGM, Play, and XBN are all that are left worth reading. Screw the rest of 'em.

Really an injustice that Game Informer still thrives and GMR doesn't.
 
i don't for a moment doubt that they really like zelda. and animal crossing, for whatever reason. and i'm not one to carp at lists anyway. that reply was purely a swipe at mumu and his sense of nintendo fanboy entitlement.
 
oic. I didn't get the feeling that he was saying Zelda should have been #1, just that Wanda shouldn't have been. Or wouldn't have been if it wasn't GMR. Or something.
 
Alex Seropian quit Bungie to found his own studio, and their first game is about the wacky misadventures of a zombie named Stubbs.
