February RPG Battle

I'll buy all of them after they bomb and drop to $20 by april unlike the last time I bought some RPG's at full price.

Do any of the upcoming RPGs (Kingdom Hearts II, Grandia 3, MS Saga, Shadow Hearts 3, Suikoden V, etc.) have 16:9 and/or progressive scan support?

KH2 = no
Grandia 3 = no
MS Saga = no
SH3 = no
Suikoden V = not out in Japan, but probably no.

Yeah, I am a fellow widescreen HDTV owner and lack of widescreen/progressive in jrpgs makes me ;_;

At least Valkryie Profile 2 will be both.

I'm surprised that Grandia 3 isn't 16:9/pro scan friendly. The last three Enix games (DQVIII, Radiata Stories and Star Ocean III) were 16:9 and/or pro scan enabled.

Why do you think no? Suikoden IV had a progressive scan mode.

Hmmm, well I guess it's possible. But lately all the rpgs have been ditching progressive scan/widescreen. Like how DQVIII had widescreen but Rogue Galaxy doesn't.

Yeah. It seems to be up to the developer and not the publisher. Tri-ace will always do 16:9 + progressive (SO3, Radiata, VP2) and DQVIII was the DQ team. Neither FFXII, Front Mission 5, FFVII: DoC, or KH2 seem to be 16:9 or progressive leading me to believe that the Square teams just aren't doing it. Though Grandia isn't really Square or Enix since it's Gamearts but yeah...

If you say so...

By the way, according to CAG EBGames is offering an artbook and limited-edition soundtrack CD as pre-order bonuses for Suiko V, which is a nice justification of a $5 deposit if you ask me. :D

Huh? It's a Queendom. A Queendom does not necessarily mean full of women, it means that it's predominantly RULED by women.
Did the female gender in this world suddenly gain higher aerobic capacity, a heavier skeleton, +37% more muscle mass, and +50% upper-body strength on average, or is this a REAL fantasy world? :D
