I picked up the beta, set everything up... try to play, I need to update. Ok.

Well, at different points in the download of the update (everytime I try) I get an error message about the content server error.

WHY!?!

It's the PlayOnline difference, duh!


But seriously, the servers may just be offline for a bit or something. Give it a couple hours, and try again.

But it downloads, then stops... not just not being able to connect

I'd guess it's because of Server Maintenace... I have the beta and havn't had any trouble with it whatsoever, but i always play early evening to late evening...

if you were trying this yesterday, there was an outage on the servers i believe. Well, in REAL FFXI there was , so i assume it took everything with it.

lol - probably all those people desperate to play DoC online crashed their infra!

good lord, someone around this parts said Pol was as good as XBL and Sony should have bought it (glances at Pana) - i can only think that theres some good smoking in Italy these days.
