I don't see that at all in the character options menu. WTF. :/

*shrugs*

The only difference as far as I know is the PS3 version has that sexy start menu that the PC version currently lacks. Everyone I've talked to says KB/M works just fine, so.... not sure what to tell you. Ask someone on the PS3 beta?

I asked in GAF guild and they said it supports KB/M on the PS3 no problem. I'm not sure why you're having difficulty....

Yes, the PS3 version supports KB/M, no it does not have the ability to switch from the cross hotbar to the kb/m hotbar like the PC version does.

The fact that everything will be wiped after this weekend is seriously diminishing my desire to play this anymore. It is so good, though. Got Gladiator to level 11, and, so far, the game has exceeded all of my expectations.

It looks fantastic for an MMO, too.

That's kinda weird. Is it possible to keybind the Cross-Hot bar keys to the KB/M?

Stupid jerks didn't send me a PS3 beta key, even though I signed up for both. :\

Oh this is the last weekend for phase 3? RIP

Wonder when phase 4 starts

Not sure, didn't bother playing around with it much as the PC version is quite superior; all I can confirm is the toggle for mouse/ controller mode to switch the hotbars does not exist on PS3 currently.

Huh, no wonder he couldn't find it. :\

Hooray for the (right now) superior PC version!

So far the only features I find missing are an appearance tab/wardrobe/transmog style system to keep your gear look, and the ability to preview gear. Both of these need to be in the game.

They're adding vanity slots later.

I think they may also add gear remodeling, too, but maybe you don't need both?

I really like how organic and the maps feel. While I walk through them I feel like they are the kinds of places I would imagine in a Final Fantasy game. There is a solid feeling to their construction both in man-made and natural aspects.

There is so much atmosphere and detail in the environments that I am able to find enjoyment just looking around at stuff. It really is quite breathtaking at times. I had many fun times in FF XI as a BST just exploring the areas and I think I will be able to do the same here.

Been playing a little on the ps3.. framerate is definitely an issue... Otherwise how does this hold up vs the PC in terms of pure visuals?

I'm torn between ps3 and pc.. or maybe waiting out the inevitable ps4 version

I'm only an hour in but damn, this is such a huge improvement over the original.

The UI is BEAUTIFUL, everything is much more intuitive and fun!

I can't wait to explore more.

Who should I contact to get in the GAF LS on Ultros?

Does the combat get any better or does it stay like WoW forever?

Huh? WoW combat was not a bad thing. One of the inarguable points of WoW is that it had solid combat. I honestly wish they borrowed more of their combat ideas from WoW.

Unless by "WoW combat" you mean typical hotkey-MMO combat... Then probably not, if your expecting some action based combat or otherwise.

I just wish you could shrink the UI a little bit (ps3 version here). Its just a TAD too big for me

ok, as expected my computer cannot run the game. It's like at 3 fps when there are players around.

It's a shame, I really need to upgrade my coffee maker :/ game looks awesome.

PC craps all over the PS3 version in terms of graphics and framerate if your computer is good.
My computer definitely above the minumum requirements by a fair margin but I still get TONS of slowdown and slowdown on PC is far worse than it is on PS3.
You start moving like a snail when you get low fps on PC but on PS3, not much happens other than people disappear and their animations look kinda jerky.

If your PC is higher end, definitely get the PC version.

the upskirts are ridiculous on this game. i can't sprint without seeing my characters underwear, wth square

I'm playing around with a female roegadyn and the boob physics are just a little too bouncy. It's stupid. Mainly that's not what I want whenever my character so much as runs normally.

I can't wait until I can get out of the RSE. I really hope this isn't any indication of how armor design is going to look in the future. The Dragoon and Bard sets are troubling as it is.

Damn thats a shame... I really was looking forward to playing it on the console over the PC for some reason.

I haven't kept up on it a whole lot, am I to assume the controller hotbar setup isn't available on the PC version? And are there any hopes the PS4 version may rival the PC?

Is there a way to customize DS controls on the PS3? The option seems available on PC but I can't see it under chara or system config for PS3.

Server question. Is there a way to see the server traffic in the world selection screen? I want to make sure I make a character in a populated server once retail launches.

Currently I'm on Ultros. Is that poised to be the go-to NA server on release?

I don't think beta today is really any indication of what server pops will be later. You will be with GAF members that are starting new, so you won't be alone, that's for sure.

So I download the 28MB installer for PS3, enter my existing SE account info, download the 4.whatever gigs of the rest of the game, and then get a "problem with the lobby server" error. Does the game try to connect again? No. I have to repeat the registration process and download the entire fucking game again

So I did Beta 1 and 2 weekends. Was anything ever said about carrying over characters? I spent quite a bit of time so far and wouldn't mind jumping back in if they're there when it launches.

I played quite a bit of the PS3 version today, then went back to the PC version. While I don't have an issue with the graphical differences (and I didn't think the frame rate was that bad either), I don't like the close quarters of the PS3 UI.

I had originally planned to buy the PS3 version so I had the option to switch between PC and PS3, but now I think I'll just stick with my PC.

Does anyone know if you can make the UI smaller on the PS3 version? I could move things around, but it didn't seem like there was a way to shrink anything.

So far I'm enjoying the game a lot more than 1.0, but I don't want to play very much because I know I'll just have to do it over again. I'm definitely keeping my 1.0 character, but I'm going to start a new character on Ultros as well since most of my friends will be starting fresh.

Does loading up your 1.0 character give you anything? Do you get the lvls or anything like that? Or do they jsut give you the skin in beta?

Your 1.0 character picks up right where you left off. Your gil is only 10% of what it was though (NPC prices are lowered to compensate).

Nothing carries over until Phase 4 of the beta. Anything you do now will be wiped at the end of Phase 3.

That's it I played enough, lvled a bit and did some dungeons. I wanted to reach until I was able to join GC but its too much work to do once and then again, never got to use my mnk because I had GC weapon. Also did they buff AF like crazy or did a lot of gear like GC suff get nerfed? My monk had gear that was much better than AF but now AF stats much better then gear I had, especially the body.

Since I wouldn't be able to play this week on my ps3 is there going to be another week? This week is the end of phase 3 right? Will ps3 people be able to play in phase 4?

Ahh, thanks. Guess I'll be jumping back in when 4 starts.

Since I wouldn't be able to play this week on my ps3 is there going to be another week? This week is the end of phase 3 right? Will ps3 people be able to play in phase 4?

Based on what others have said, I believe next weekend is still phase 3, then there will be roughly a straight week of play after that. So you've got at least two more weeks of phase 3.

A few questions for anybody willing to answer. How does the game run on ps3? Is there going to be a subscription fee? If I liked FF12 will I like this game (the combat seems similar)? Also what comes in the collectors edition (if anybody knows)?

Ok, gained like 8 levels today, so was a good day.

Still have no idea how the hell professions work. I get that they're their own classes, which is a neat idea, but the first quest I got for one was terrible. It's "get this item off of this npc, but for this item, you'll need to find it on your own". Yeah, thanks, big help chief. :p

Think at this point I'm better off just figuring out how professions work. Found healing fun, quests are fine, so not much left to figure out.

Make a character on Leviathan!

I probably won't even play this weekend, this game sucks shit bro

HOW do I beat the level 15 boss as an archer?! (the guy with the mask) It's killiinnnggg meee

Level Conjurer to 2 so you can equip Cure.

1. It runs well on PS3 if you're not comparing it to the PC version. If you've never seen the PC version in person, or you ran the PC version at low settings you'll be okay with the PS3 version. If that's not the case, you'll probably find the PS3 version playable, but the PC version is far superior. Personally, my only complaint with the PS3 version is the low resolution that causes a cramped UI. That is what's keeping me on the PC version.

2. Yes. The standard fee is $12.99 per month, but it gets a bit lower if you do a longer sub I believe. (http://www.ffxivinfo.com/service.php)

3. I didn't play much FF12, so I couldn't tell you. Plus, combat will change quite a bit as you get to higher levels. The first 15 or so levels aren't really a good indicator of how combat plays out.
