The fact that everything will be wiped after this weekend is seriously diminishing my desire to play this anymore. It is so good, though. Got Gladiator to level 11, and, so far, the game has exceeded all of my expectations.

It looks fantastic for an MMO, too.

That happens to everyone. I felt the same way in the last stretch of the FFXI beta back in the day. No progression kinda dulls your desire to play.

During this phase new characters cant be created on the NA legacy servers, BUT during Phase 4(?) and Retail of course, feel free to make a new character wherever you want.

Kite like crazy, pop an antidote if you get poisoned. When you get it down to 30% a helper will come. The big thing has low hp so be patient and it will go down fast enough.

There is no way to change the color of your gear, is there? I have some seriously mismatched shit going on, but I want to wear stuff up to my level. Aside from that, I am getting pretty addicted to this. I may end up getting it.

1. It runs well on PS3 if you're not comparing it to the PC version. If you've never seen the PC version in person, or you ran the PC version at low settings you'll be okay with the PS3 version. If that's not the case, you'll probably find the PS3 version playable, but the PC version is far superior. Personally, my only complaint with the PS3 version is the low resolution that causes a cramped UI. That is what's keeping me on the PC version.

2. Yes. The standard fee is $12.99 per month, but it gets a bit lower if you do a longer sub I believe. (http://www.ffxivinfo.com/service.php)

3. I didn't play much FF12, so I couldn't tell you. Plus, combat will change quite a bit as you get to higher levels. The first 15 or so levels aren't really a good indicator of how combat plays out.

Not sure if this got mentioned, but for anyone playing on ps3 with issues of things cutting off. If you just go to the start menu > System > HUD Layout, you can adjust where the windows go. The only thing you can't alter is the chat window. Hope this helps someone.

I played quite a bit of the PS3 version today, then went back to the PC version. While I don't have an issue with the graphical differences (and I didn't think the frame rate was that bad either), I don't like the close quarters of the PS3 UI.

I had originally planned to buy the PS3 version so I had the option to switch between PC and PS3, but now I think I'll just stick with my PC.

Does anyone know if you can make the UI smaller on the PS3 version? I could move things around, but it didn't seem like there was a way to shrink anything.

So far I'm enjoying the game a lot more than 1.0, but I don't want to play very much because I know I'll just have to do it over again. I'm definitely keeping my 1.0 character, but I'm going to start a new character on Ultros as well since most of my friends will be starting fresh.



Your 1.0 character picks up right where you left off. Your gil is only 10% of what it was though (NPC prices are lowered to compensate).



Nothing carries over until Phase 4 of the beta. Anything you do now will be wiped at the end of Phase 3.

edit: I can't read, wow. Ok I see. So when Phase 4 starts my 1.0 character will be reset to his 1.0ness. Gotcha.

I finally made the perfect looking Highlander Male for me, he doesn't look retarded anymore.. Had to use a hairstyle that covered most of the forehead. So is it for sure that at beta 4 or launch I will be able to change the look of my retarded 1.0 legacy character to the new one I made? I really hate how my old character looks. And has SE said anything about adding hairstyle npc or tatoo npc to final game?

Anyone have a bug where when you start up the game the resolution/hrz is wrong even though the settings are correct? It shows 1920x1080 60hz in the settings, but it's running at the wrong resolution at 24hrz everytime i reset. I have to change it from 1920 and back again for it to work.

You might have to select one of the possible rewards as you can only choose one before being able to complete it.
