Ok, maybe GTA and Socom were good too but I don't like those genres so meh :p

- Nice graphics + the character art is really good
- Very nice music
- Nice plot so far. Nothing earth-shattering but I like the character interaction a lot.
- Battle system is alright

Seems like a poor man's Lunar (much better gfx tho) so far and that's great compared to the crap I've had to play..

I also love that I don't have to hurt my thumb trying to use the terribly-placed analog stick. D-pad FTW! Unlike most other psp games, it works fine on LoH..

I like how this review accentuates the fluff as positives and then kind of downs the actual gameplay.

But it's a good game! :lol

Hot Shots Open Tee > psp library

The Lunar games are fantastic but the battle systems are pretty basic. Not really much to say about that in old-school rpgs :p

LoH is the best game on the psp right now...

So, so true. I don't like playing games that force me to use the analog stick.

it actually sucks if you use the analog stick because the movement is based on straight lines. Your character jumps all over the screen with the stick.

man, I really wanted this game ---- but between DQVIII, Mario & Luigi II, and the new Animal Crossing ..... my time for rpg's traditional and non-traditional is entirely used up....

Heroes looks cute though... one day I'll grab it up.

Dude, we all know you lack taste in gaming Konex, but who knew your expectations are THIS low ... I mean damn.
And it's common knowledge that both DS and PSP wouldn't last very long. :p

Hey, don't blame me cos the psp lineup sux ass! Honestly, the game is very nice though :D

OT but yesterday I saw a lady buying a PSP and some games for her son. She asked the guy helping her which golf game was better, Hot Shots or Tiger Woods.

He said Tiger Woods.

But I do blame you for buying subpar drek in the false hope that better games would come around for it (which it won't). Just go and play the FFXII demo again and stop beating yourself over the head. You know you want to. :p

I don't expect much from this game, but I do plan on picking it up later or sooner.
Well, you already bought the first "poor man's Lunar" this year...so what the hell, right? :P

Nah. Too much on my handheld plate thanks to the amazing end-of-year combo GBA/NDS lineups.

I'll probably buy it together with Ys VI, however, and have a grand ole Falcom lovin' day. Next year sometime.

I'll give you one good guess as to which fairly recent RPG I didn't get beyond the 12th or so hour in. Just one good guess. :D

I'll make it easy for you. It's not DQ8 or a SMT game. There ya go.

Buy it now and support the dev for bringing it over!
I'd rather buy Castlevania DS to support execellent looking (and playing) sprite based games than average 3d looking games like Legend of Heroes.
You're better off getting the port of Princess Crown or something like that. You know, an actual GOOD game. :p

Legend of Heroes! That was tough! :D

...Simply, no. I don't believe The Legend of Heroes is good enough to warrant an unthinking purchase by avid RPG fans. There are too many issues here I cannot bring myself to look past or over. Slow pacing, tedious backtracking, inane minor quests, problematic controls, and unfulfilling combat combine to make one very non-portable title that has too many problems to ignore, even if this is the only game in town.

I'm confused, is this a satire thread? You fail at funny.

Jack Black-style telephone punch would be my response to the clerk.

PSP RULEZ. THERE ARE 50 GOOD GAMES ON IT.

I have one for sale :D please buy it because Legend of Heroes > 10 copies of Mario Kart DS.

Such a disparity between the Reader Reviews and IGN's review. I'm more inclined to trust Toasty's review - seems a lot more in line with my expectation. I put a copy on my Xmas list though...

The big thing I'm wondering is does LoH have a save anywhere function?

Yeah, it does. You just go to the menu, then some other button like "data" or something, then hit "save." I'm not far in, but its let me save whenever I want.
