Finally got my 360. A few questions.

Finally got my 360 after buying a HDTV (32" samsung, le32-m61bx). I bought the premium pack + pgr3 + play&charge kit for around 400€ in total (no VAT, thanks to the company).

Some impressions:
- It did not come with a remote, so the remote was really for the first shipments.
- The system looks very pretty in person, 10x nicer than the old xbox.
- There's so much to do with the system, it's amazing. I hooked up my pc with media connect, and it's just great to be listen to music all the time, whatever game you are playing. I downloaded Fight night demo, marble blast ultra and some other stuff. I have barely touched PGR3 yet..
- Overall I'm very happy with the purchase, especially with Live Arcade. The star of the show was Marble Blast Ultra (and not PGR3 as I was expecting). I played it for hours just chilling out to music from my computer. I can also tell that there are at least 32,000 ranked players (the game seems to be selling really well!).

I have a few questions..

- Is there a way to maintain playlists across sessions? If I start listening to music in the dashboard, and I go into a game, I have to find the album all over again. It's a bit irritating.
-Doing other stuff while downloading, I guess it's not possible. Some of the download speeds seem very slow, especially with arcade games..
- For a 32" LCD, is a VGA cable worth buying?
- How would you rate 360's dvd playback? I'm thinking of buying a seperate dvd player, but maybe it's not worth it?

So that's all for now. I really like it so far!

if you dont have a HDTV or intend to buy one in the near future, buy the VGA cable.
dvd playback is poor. 480p only.

patch to allow you to do 'otherstuff' when downloading is coming, sometime.

I'm not sure if I understand the question, but I would suggest making playlists of songs using m3u or wpl files (can be created with windows media player) on your PC. That way you can easily access the songs you want.

I have the VGA cable on a 19lcd and it makes the games look really good. DVD playback is okay. Nothing different than my stand alone dvd player.

Both need to be fixed in the next patch.

Yes.

As good as any stand-alone DVD player.

VGA cable - yes, you want it. Standalone DVD player (if you're into movies big time) - yes, you want it. One that has HDMI output and can possibly upscale to 720p.

Great HDTV, btw.

Upscaling DVD players are junk. Not worth the extra money IMO.

I couldn't disagree more. I have an upscaling DVD player hooked up to my TV via HDMI. There was a VERY noticeable difference when I compared the pictures it produced with my 360.
