I'm seeing more popups then ever. And yes, I do have it checked off to block popups. Using version 1.0.3. Did webmasters figure a way around it.

I get them mostly when looking at Stileproject.

the fuckers are now getting hip to the plan...I too have been seeing popups on Prosportsdaily and so other sites.. maybe MS is funding programmers to learn how to make popups for firefox.. (that last part is in Jest)

My googlebar in IE has been incredible at blocking popups for the last year or so.. until this week. I think some of them are actually from google.

Robo:I got it but I've been getting new windows opening up to sites. I need that to stop. I think it might just be javascript.

firefox doesn't currently block java and flash based popups without a plugin. the problem is advertisers have figured out ways to create popups and popunders in java applets and flash apps. that is where the popups are coming from (as opposed to all previously being DHTML and javascript).


google popups must die. that is the new experimental popup blocker the firefox team is working on. they are starting out blocking everything (kind of a pain) but working on finetuning it to allow through more leigitmate popups.

get the latest one of these.. it wont fix the problem, but will block *most* of the sites that do it.
