I've been using Firefox for like 2 years and I still don't know how to make it display a red X (or something similar) for images that don't want to load.

It's pretty annoying when people are posting images on here and such.

Help a brother out?

ditto. seeing posts that are obviously referencing a picture but are missing said picture is a little annoying.

what's really weird is that the link for the picture is missing when the post is quoted by someone.

same here it freaked me out last time cause I saw no red x and everyone was carrying along like the saw some boobs

In firebird, I would see a little picture icon to show that a pic was supposed to be there. Nowadays, I have to quote the post if I want to see what images are being referenced and then copy and paste in the address bar. Before it was just right click > "view image" and bam, you get your image. The frustrating part is that sometimes firefox just doesn't want to show some images until copy/paste and cache them (not just from sites that don't allow hotlinking). If someone is subtle about posting pictures, you might not even know one was posted.
