Not too sure about this. Kristanna Loken just doesn't seem to look the part of Bloodrayne. And shouldn't her hair be a bit more red? They do have some pretty good actors, though. Or at least one: Ben Kingsley rocks.

Penned by American Psycho's Guinevere Turner, the screenplay acts as a prequel to the events that follow in Majesco's bloody good video game. In the film Bloodrayne finds herself orphaned at a young age and joins a circus freak show. Well, one problem with that, Bloodrayne was born a vampire.

Well then that'd make her only half-vamp. This story kind of makes it sound like Bloodrayne is undergoing sort of a pubescent transformation into a vampire... which almost kind of makes sense from an evolutionary perspective. If you look at any other vampire movie, when someone is born a vampire (full or half) they have already aged up to a certain point (typically they are 20-somethings). Vampires are immortal and they cannot age. So if a baby was a full blown vampire at birth... the baby would not age which means it would be a rather weak vampire. Delaying the transformation makes sense because it would allow the child to grow into an adult (which are better suited for hunting, etc). Then, after they have fully grown they will take on the characteristics of a vampire.

The budget is an amazing 40 million dollars. For comparison, Underworld (haters begone!) looked really slick and only cost 22million. They were able to afford a skin tight outfit for Kate though.

That's maybe the first 1/4 of the game. Once you get past the first part of the game, it gets much better (at least it did for me). There's a big jump in time and story. It seemed almost like two different games.

A Sound of Thunder was actually filmed back in 2002, but has been shelved repeatedly. But that doesn't exactly excuse Kingsley.
