First Look: Matt Damon As An Astronaut In Ridley Scott’s ‘The Martian’

Since Lindelof pretty much put Scott's orders on the page, I'm gonna say no. Ridley Scott is just toxic to me at the moment.

Oddly enough, I'd argue that if Scott takes less interest in the work, the better it will be. As soon as he wants to put his own shit in the script, everything falls apart.

Such a great book, I can't wait for this.

Looks good, I just started reading the book and it's pretty good so far. My only gripe is that the character spends too much time explaining exactly how he's doing things. (I.E. laying down dirt for planting, going into descriptions way too often) It just gets kind of boring. Hopefully it gets better.

The book absolutely rocks.

Since book author was satisfied with the Goddard's script, I really think Scott and Damon combo will not disappoint.

is this a joke? prometheus without Damon Lindelof sounds like a great idea

If Ridley is still on board, then yeah, I'm not looking forward to another stumble in semi-original sci-fi.

It's no joke. Ridley has been pumping out a constant stream of diarrhea for a long time now.

The book was pretty good till the last third so hopefully they find a way to tighten that back-end up, seeing no matter what, I adore Damon.

It gets better. I felt the same way but it picks up.

The book was trash and I expect the movie to be no better. Bad science, superhuman Gary Stu, deus ex machina coming out of every plot hole. The Martian is basically an updated Armageddon with fewer characters.
