blah, i cringed reading those reviews.

ah well, it's exciting to hear anything about serenity i guess. i can't wait to see it. the show had so much story to flesh out that i don't even think serenity will take a jab at the majority of it. sequels aplenty or will someone pick up the series again?

Well, if this one's succesfull (and if there's any justice in the world it will be :D ), it could grow into a trilogy. All the actors have already signed up for that option so... To bad we have to wait until september, but I'm sure it will be really good. Still can't understand why Fox decided to cancel such a good show, really can't....

Because it was holding a slot they need for "My Short Obnoxious Skin Rash".

hmmm, i've never seen firefly since it never made its way to australia. initially i didn't give a crap about buffy, but one night i sat down and watched an episode and became an instant addict. then angel started and i had two whedon shows to be hooked on. so it was a real disappointment when firefly never made its way here. it's awesome that this movie is shaping up to be a winner. i'll be getting the firefly episodes as soon as possible so i can begin getting hyped for this movie.

Whedon has created such incredible characters and dialogue in this movie. What has always struck me about most science fiction movies is that no one speaks normally, it’s almost as if space has stifled their sense of normalcy and rammed a giant stick up the characters’ asses. Well, as most of you will already know, Whedon can put his characters in the most unimaginable and incredible circumstances and still give them personalities, wit, and true emotion.
:lol
fuggin' awesome

I recently started watching firefly, I'm surprised how much I enjoy the show.

Not surprised it was cancelled though, I don't think there's much of an audience for it on network tv.

8 months?

I'm going to run out of saliva.

P.S. "Out of Gas" and "Objects in Space" are two of the greatest individual episodes of anything ever shown on television.

I want a JMS/Joss collaboration. Joss can work on the characters and JMS can make a long term plot that actually sticks together.

I hate Buffy and Angel, but I thought Firefly was pretty cool, I'm probably gonna get the DVD set soon. Its nice to hear that the movie is good (assuming this review is legit). Too bad it's been pushed back to September.

Ive been hesitant to watch firefly..

I love the buffyverse... not spacecowboyverse.

So was I... But I started watching it, because, well, it's from Joss. The first couple of episodes were good, took some getting use to and then after that I really started to get into it, and now I love it!

P.S. "Out of Gas" and "Objects in Space" are two of the greatest individual episodes of anything ever shown on television.

Damn right, but I also love "Bushwacked". Btw, the "Out Of Gas" & "Bushwacked" eps were both written by Tim Minear, who's maybe as good as Joss when it comes to writing. He also wrote "Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been", which is one of the finest Angel eps ever imo. :)

how many eps are they into it?

wait a minute... i just checked the paper and it's not there.

Um, they must've swapped it over again with that lame Mutant X. It used to be Wednesday night, but it's on Tuesday night now, going by the Perth schedule. I think it's in the 4th or 5th episode, though I haven't watched it in a while.

Just watched the first 3 eps. I'm hooked.

I doubt I’m the only person noticing characters reminiscent of those we know from Buffy and Angel. But... considering there are so few episodes am I going to be pissed off by a completely unresolved, cliff-hanger finale or by an episode that feels like it was meant to be concluded with a second part? How far into River's (that's her name isn't it?) story will we get?

Can't wait for the movie now, especially after reading the above impressions.
