I am going to be buying a user car sometime this week and I was wondering any advice. I am torn between a 2015 Altima SV and a 2014 Accord LX. The Accord is slightly more expensive ($1600) but we haven't tried to negotiate to get the Altima down anymore.

The Altima has some additional features the Accord doesn't but it doesn't drive as well and isn't as roomyl. I don't do a lot of driving (about 75 miles a week) so I'm kind of torn between getting the better value or the better drive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Use an online site that checks a car if it's a lemon and make sure the dealership is reputable. That's all I know. If you're buying from some guy, then godspeed. Never bought a used car before.

I've already checked the Carfax on both cars. Both were former leases that were turn in and maintained properly. Both dealers are also reputable.

I was duped into buying a car that had been in an accident that was never reported and didn't show up on the carfax. Get a mechanic to look at it first. I will never buy used again gimme that warranty baby!

Just as a reminder that you very well might already be aware of, additional features are also additional things that can break or cost more.

Obviously sometimes you prefer them anyway unless you're a monk, but as an example, when I got my used Avalon, it has auto-leveling HID headlamps. Replacing those bulbs is outrageously expensive compared to standard halogen, and the lamp on the right still needs adjustment because it auto-levels too close to the ground. I still really like the car, but the additional features that come with it do present unique headaches sometimes.

Both of these come with a warranty and actually the NIssan comes with the better warranty of the two.

Thanks! This is something I hadn't even thought about.
