FOX is in development on an action-adventure series HELLFIRE (working title), it was announced today by David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

Set in the late 1960s, the series -- which will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television, with 20th Century Fox handling the physical production -- follows a young Special Agent who learns that a power-hungry woman with extraordinary abilities is working with a clandestine society of millionaires – known as “The Hellfire Club” – to take over the world.

a Emma Frost show? yes please

I don't think they have the subtlety to do it, and the hellfire without the x-men is just a bunch of mutant assholes cosplaying.

So enemy group shamelessly stolen from an old TV series (The Avengers) gets ripped off by a comic book and then reprocessed into a TV show all its own?

...

Alrighty, then.

Fox wants to use their X-Men rights on TV and goes for the Hellfire Club? For real? I know they probably don't want to waste good mutants on the big screen, but there was really nothing cooler they could think of doing with the property?

You know an Emma solo show would be hot, showing her family stuff would be great. Her brother killed himself because their father hated he was gay, and her 2 sisters are an evil asshole just because she wants to be better than Emma, and an evil asshole because she didn't get any attention.

Is Emma Frost still shacking up with Cyclops though because that's a huge buzzkill. I imagine Jean Grey is magically alive again though, its been a few years.

This describes a good chunk of FOX's primetime scripted drama legacy. It's like all those shows about privileged white people struggling with their poor decisions spending their hundreds of millions of dollars and never having to hold down a job.

WOuldn't be a the whole show, half a season until she works through her martinal issues with the Hellions

I love the Hellfire Club - nice to see the live-action X-Men universe expanding to television. Man, this day has had some big news (Battle Angel, Kong/Godzilla, etc.)!

I thought FOX owned these characters and are allowed to use Mutants?

It's not a Fox show doe that's the point. It's an X-men show without the X-men which is duuuuuuuuuuumb.

An Emma Frost story without Scott to play off of is just not compelling, you need both.

Collabs are in creative limbo. If they have them in the MCU, which I'm sure is Marvels aim, they can't have Mutants.

Just read on Screenrant that they theorize this might be connected to those mysterious 2020 movie dates recently announced.

It's Happening!
