What is this even?
GTA Online: The Movie?
NPCs Gone Wild?
Ready Player One... but good?
This is a very strange looking movie. I’m down.
Edit: noticed something weird. The writer for this barely has any work on his imdb prior to this year and all of a sudden he's getting like 5 big movie projects. Wtf? How's he blowing up like this?
I'm so confused. Is he in a video game? What does the title "Free Guy" even mean? I don't get any of it.
He's an NPC called 'Guy" that becomes self aware and starts freely making his own choices inside the game he's a part of.I'm so confused. Is he in a video game? What does the title "Free Guy" even mean? I don't get any of it.
He's an NPC in a video game who becomes self-aware and decides to fight back against the asshole players.

Looks like a fun streaming movie.
Reynolds plays himself in every film. Nothing changed, he did the same before deadpool.Reynolds apparently plays Deadpool in every movie now.
Imho nothing to be exciting about. Will probably watch though as my friends love movies like that.
thought this was cool and looked interesting. then they go and make a virgin joke at the very end. i am so sick of hearing about incels and how playing videogames make you a virgin, that shit has been old for decades now, and seeing big successful movie stars make it just feel condescending. i was all in until that part but ugh big turnoff.
honestly kind of stunned Ryan Reynolds managed to have himself a career. but then again Hollywood loves mediocre crap so it's not that impressive.
Hence the reason studios don't want to spend big money on action films unless they are comic book related these days.
*shrug*
Michael Bays Six Underground this month on netflix etc. say otherwise.
Netflix is desperate for content as they know the big boys are starting their own streaming services.
I think Irishman and Six Underground both had 150+ million budgets. I can't even comprehend how they work out if they'll break even or make a profit in a situation like this. And just as I was annoyed that Irishman won't be at the cinemas, I'm annoyed that Six Underground won't be at the cinemas either. I really don't want my big action films relegated to the small screen.
I care less and less about the movie going experience, if I had the chance of watching new movies same day at home for the same price I would do it in a heartbeat. xD
You'd be happy to pay $20 or so to rent the film at release?
this looks like a straight up dumpster fire
This Ryan Reynolds guy seems like a genuine good person (or at least tries to be).
He doesn't pretend the world is perfect, but tries to get people in good moods.
And he doesn't virtue signal talk, unless he's backing it up with the walk.
At least that's the impression I get.
Nah, he signals. Remember all the totally unasked for apologies for his "planatation wedding"? Who cares? So long as the theme isn't literally a 1830's plantation complete with house slaves it's just a nice house and manicured lawn at this point. And he doesn't virtue signal talk, unless he's backing it up with the walk.
At least that's the impression I get.
It is all marketing. He may be a cool guy, but it is all image management marketing. Image is important for celebrity. This Ryan Reynolds guy seems like a genuine good person (or at least tries to be).

So he's a cross between Neo and the guy from 300 in that movie that no one gave a fuck about?
Refreshing to see something at least somewhat original being given a decent budget and what looks good execution.
