IMPORTANT: For this to work, you need to PM me to get a referral ID *before* signing up. You sign up via the link from the person at the top of the list. Thats how it works.

I now need 5 referrals. Once I have those, the next person on the list gets the next referrals. If you get any referrals personally, then say when you have enough so the next person gets a go.

edit: Please don't directly link your referral ID, as everything will get out of sync. We need to use referrals efficiently.

PM me and I'll send you the link to whoever the top person is on the list. When you have signed up for the two offers via that link, you get added to the list. So actually noone is on the list yet - PM me with your own referral ID when you have completed the offers for the current referrer, and I will then add you to the pending list.

Current list

2) Koshiro - Currently active

Click on MrKlaw's referral link and sign up. Follow the steps and PM your referral link to MrKlaw. Wait until you get 5 referrals too and claim your iPod

Take the link to said site out of your first post so people don't click it before reading. :lol

Anyway, I've completed now. ebay registration, and another 14 day trial at screenselect, which i've already abused before. :lol

Note that you need to bid on something after you've registered at Ebay to make it valid. Just bid on something at a stupidly low price and immediately get outbid (I placed a bid on a silver ps2 with 5 games that was at £74 and immediately got outbid).

Hopefully not. Matlock did shut down a Canadian one, but then didn't he get an ipod from a previous thread?

It'd be nice for at least the first UK one to be allowed to live for a little while.

Aren't pyramid schemes illegal under UK law?

Always wondered when the FreeXXX schemes would cross the Atlantic and come to the UK and how the government would deal with them under current legislation.

http://www.dti.gov.uk/ccp/topics1/facts/pyramid.htm

'March 2004 - The Department of Culture Media and Sport have published the draft clauses of the Gambling Bill dealing with chain gifting schemes. Under these clauses, people who organise, promote or recruit into such schemes would risk up to a year in jail and fines of £5,000.'

'Trading schemes become illegitimate and illegal if, while purporting to offer business opportunities, the sole purpose of the scheme is to make money by recruiting other participants, rather than trading in goods or services. This form of bogus scheme is sometimes referred to as "pyramid selling".'

Well, we're "trading in goods or services" right?! So it's not illegal.

On another note, I won my bet with one of the sponsors :D

Woah, I thought this kind of thread was insta-ban material...
I'm going to lock it, and leave it up to someone else to figure out if this is ban-worthy or not.

But yes, it's a pyramid scheme, and yes, Wario64 did cite the proper portion of the TOS. :)

One question though, why did you guys leave the US one open and are deciding to close the UK one?!
I wasn't involved in any of the previous threads, but as far as I can tell, there are only three* possible reasons why the US one wasn't closed immediately:

1) It may have been the first of its kind, so no one thought very carefully about allowing it to continue.

2) When the decision was made to lock the other ones, it wasn't locked because of an oversight.

3) Since the UK isn't contributing enough to our current plans to invade and occupy Iran, you don't deserve any free iPods.

As far as I'm concerned, this DOESN'T warrant a ban -- the original poster probably has a case for saying, "I wasn't sure if it was OK since the American one went on for so long." But it is a pyramid scheme, and unless this decision is overruled by someone else, I think it is against the TOS.

* ...but only two reasons are serious.
