hey can anyone post a link to any software I can make an avatar with? I'm just trying to take to screen from an anime but I have no idea how.

I downloaded A LOT of trials some time ago so when I google and download them now it seems my time has expired for most... anyway I tried doing it by myself with print screen and pasting in in paint but it only works when zoomplayer is open, when it closes the pic I took becomes black. >_<

Even better would be if there's a program to make short .gifs... I'm talking about a free program here btw so I can't use Jasc other stuff on its level. Thanks for any help. ^_^

If you turn off hardware acceleration in WMP, the print screen trick should work without giving you the black box.

*edit - nevermind, I just tried that myself with a DVD and it didn't work. Bleh*

I usually go frame by frame in the video (or output it to an image sequence if it's in Quicktime), then use Macromedia Fireworks to convert it.
