Freedom Fighters (Xbox). Problems with 720p?

I bought a HDTV (Fujitsu Siemens Myrica V32-1) this week and decided to give FF another try. This time in 720p. It looks absolutely stunning at this resolution, but there's a problem with the screen width. The screen seems to be cut off on the left and right borders for about 50 or so pixel. This means that the first recruit circle in the upper left corner is visible only by one third and the subtitles are also missing the first word normally. Is this a known problem or is it just my setup? Other games seem to be perfect in 720p.

The OSD of my LCD doesn't allow me to change geometry settings when the image source is YUV.

I experienced the same issue, but I attributed it to overscan (as I'm using a CRT). However, if you are on an LCD and still seeing elements of the HUD being cut, perhaps they simply screwed up.

As far as I can recall, I didn't experience any issues like that. But if you're having problem, can't you just adjust the image to make it better? At least I can with my TV.

No I can't. The Geometry menu in my OSD is disabled when YUV is selected as source. I can only adjust image quality, but not its size. Also controls like 4:3 or the zoom modi are disabled.

But it isn't that much of an issue. I just wanted to figure out if it was a problem regarding my setup or a bug in the software.

I did the same thing on my old HDTV. I assumed that was due to the set having a 1024x768 resolution (same as most current 42" plasma screens).

On my new HDTV (1366x768 resolution), it displays just fine.

John Johnson, what you're experiencing is a known problem with that game. Many people have experienced the same problem to varying degrees, and few have found a solution. The problem seems to be even more pronounced on CRT-based monitors. Only adjusting the overscan on the set through the service menu will correct the problem, but this is better when done by a professional.
