So this kid in my dorm was telling me about how he boxed in highschool so of course I decided to ask him if he wanted to have a little fight. He agreed to it and we made some rules. No bitting, no groin shots, no eye gouging, he would wear my 4 oz glves and I would go bare knuckle (I only have one pair of 4 oz gloves) but I wouldn't be allowed to through strikes.
We went out onto a soccer field right outside my dorm and had at it. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, he was wearing jeans, no shirt, and a pair of sneakers (yeah, he was dressed kind of strangely). We circled for several seconds until I went for a double leg take down. It was a very, very sloppy take down attempt (partly due to the muddy conditions of the soccer field being bad for traction) and it really hammered home the fact that I need to work on my wrestling a lot. He popped me with a couple upercuts including one that opened a cut underneath my right eye, but I was able to get the double leg and I lifted him off the ground and slammed him on his back. Big fun. From there I quickly took a mounted position, but before I was able to set my hooks and immobolize him, he had rolled over and given me his back. He then tried to push me off of him by turtling, but this just gave me room to set my hooks and five seconds later he was tapping from a brutal rear naked choke. Fight lasted about 25 seconds.
Given the shortness and relative ease of that fight and the fact that the boxer wanted a second go at it, I offered him a rematch. This time I shot and secured a single leg before he was able to land any good punches on me. While trying to drive him into the ground, he did connect with some punches to the top of my head which did nothing. I got him onto the ground, but this time I was in his half guard. I burried my face onto his chest while he sent more punches from both of his arms onto the top of my head. I grabbed a hold of his right arm (I really wanted to kimura him) and all of a sudden, he opened his half guard (I have no idea why). I moved into a mount and he again gave me his back and I again applied a rear naked choke.
Two matches, two wins, one minute. Fun stuff tonight.
