It is freaking crazy. I can't find that model for less then $1200 on the web.

Buyer Beware: Fry's regularly places pictures in the when it's a totally different product. PLU numbers are the only thing you can really confirm though.

Hot damn. That is the 36XS955??
Yes. Only 36 inch HDTV that Sony makes currently. I have a Panasonic 36" TV and it is more then big enough for Widescreen movies.

It's most likely refurbished. Frys does alot of that... Nothing wrong with that really, but I doubt it's a new set.

I was in the IL Fry's two weeks ago, first time I've been in one; that place is madness. Just, fucking huge.

Next time I'm definitely not going to go in there without having something specific I'm looking to purchase, though; just for the sake of buying, I got these $10 PC speakers and true to form they are horrible. At half volume everything is distorted.

I fucking hate europe. If that tv is 799 in the US it would cost like 5000 in Europe :( why must it be so expensive here.

I have never seen them advertise deals on refurbished items.

I gotta agree. I look at the Fry's ad practically every day for god knows how many years now and if its refurbished, they clearly point it out in the ad. They have never mislead anyone in the ad on purpose, and they don't do as much refurbished stuff as you make it sound. They do deal with it but its not like everything that's a good price is refurbished there.

Well all I'm saying is, if it sounds too good to be true most of the time it is.

Actually, I believe it is the 36HS420. If it was the XS955, believe me, I would have been there with my pickup truck before the doors opened. I already have the best 36" direct-view JVC made, but for that price, I don't think I could pass it up.

Still, that's a great price for the 36HS420 though.

I take advantage of their deals all the time and have never had any issues. They do clearly mark the refurbished items. I dont know how they get the prices so low and I really dont care. :)
