Just sent this to the seller:

Okay, I received the item today, but um... I'm sorry, its condition is unacceptable.

"USED Playstation video game titled TOMBA! Complete with original directions and jewel case. Game disc has some light scratches. Directions are in fair condition. Some minor sticker residue on front of case."

1) The front page of the cover is ripped off.
2) There's no back cover.
3) Price sticker on the first page of the manual.
4) It's a rental... never mentioned, though to be fair, I missed that detail from the picture. As such it has that magnetic sticker cover over the disc itself.
5) "has some light scratches" - some? Every single square inch of the disc has light scratches all over it. That isn't "some."

Now I didn't expect this to be in mint condition, but I also didn't expect it to be in such poor condition.

How would you like to resolve this?

Thanks in advance.

Should have stuck with Amazon?

Perhaps.

Now I have to wait for a resolution, and if that fails, do a dreaded chargeback with PayPal.

Luckily the checking account I have on file with them is now closed.

Hello,
I am sorry youre not happy. But i am willing to work with you. These are your options. Ill give you 5$ off any future auction win. Or i can give you a list of games i have and ill send you a free one. Let me know then,
Thanks and take care,
Tony

Where's the option called REFUND, Tony?

at least he's nice enough to do something for you. most sellers are asses and will just ignore you (since they have a right to).
the worst you can really do is leave him a negative feedback.
on a side note, how much did you pay? usually if I score a really cheap auction, i don't care that much about the quality of the product.

Only game I ever got of eBay was Rez ($19)... The seller said it was used but it came wraped (unused and unopened). I have not used eBay in the last 6 months though as i fear a bad experience.

In other news... TOMBA???

edit: I would choose the "take the free game option"...

...post the list here :)

It was $21, plus $2.99 shipping - 10% PayPal coupon.

And if a seller ever does want to be an ass and ignore me, I'll simply do a chargeback, even though I assume that'll be hell since PayPal sucks balls.

I replied back,

Thank you for responding so quickly. (and I was also amazed at how quickly the game arrived, just sadly, not as described)

Honestly, I don't want either of those options, I'd like to just send the game back to you for a refund.

In the future, please be more specific about item condition in your listings. I don't know if my item was just an oversight, because you do have 99.5% positive feedback, or if other people just don't mind as much as I do. But again, the item clearly did not come as described.

Will a refund be okay?

Thanks in advance.

Tomba and used, cant you get that in Bargin bins...and anyone buying that came deserves to get what they get ...steaming pile of crap...

I already replied saying I just simply want a refund, no fuss.

Besides which, Tomba looks like it's been used as a damn coaster. And the fre egame will probably also be in poor condition.

TOMBA!

Good and fun game. Fairly challenging too. Too bad I couldn't play it for extended periods of time. The bright colours literally made me feel sick to my stomach after a while.

Anyways, good luck with resolving this. Way to be assertive.

I thought Tomba 1 was rather rare. It fetches $15-$30 on eBay usually.

And it's also supposed to be quite good. Maybe you're thinking of Tomba 2.

I paid $34 Canadian for a Final Fantasy II cartridge. I don't regret it one bit. I haven't had a bad Ebay experience yet. I've used it about 6 or 7 times methinks.

Yeah but you could have bought it new for $29 bucks from AMazon....

Please elaborate.

What did you have to do?

Filed a complaint with PayPal and explained the situation very specifically. Within a day PayPal said I was entitled to a full refund + shipping charges. All they needed me to do was ship the item back to the seller and provide a tracking number so they know it arrived. Once my item arrived back at the seller I got a full refund.

No, used, in "very good" condition. And the person has a 4.7/5, or 94% feedback rating, which is lower than 99.5%.

Woah, so PayPal actually cares now-a-days?

I have had a bad Ebay experience, but my bad Amazon experience was worse, because I paid $33.49 for Advent Rising and never got it. I ordered it on June 4, had to wait until the 30th to start a refund, and it went through today. So I loaned this jackass my money for over a month..
