full metal alchemist and CN WTF

Does anyone know wtf is going on with Full Metal Alchemist and cartoon network? It's the only thing I watch on that channel and last week the show was in the very fing middle of the season and today its on episode one. What in gods name are they doing ?

dammit garret, get on AIM you ass. I don't know, I hate FUNimation and I hate CN when they do anime. They messed with my mind so much when I was into DBZ that I lost all faith.

But I want it now! [/whine]

Bastards did that with Yu Yu Hakusho as well. The cut it off right before
Yusuke dies and becomes a demon.
Then they kicked it to the beginning and put in on every day and then threw it to Saturday and now it doesn't show anymore. Hurry up Funimation.

If anyone has not seen FMA, please don't see the episode 7 if you're depressed (is one of the most saddest things that I've ever seen)

that was so unexpected, I never tought that it will go that far

It's screwed up, the last episode they showed last week they showed a preview for the next episode like normal. There is no fing excuse they did that when they weren't going to even air it.

Don't worry, you aren't missing much.

I'm not waiting for that BS. It makes no sense to air half a season at all. I'm must watching the jap with subs now. Screw this useless channel. Even Foxnews is better than this

I gotta agree, I didn't see that coming I was left in a shock for like a couple of hours the Father of the girl not giving one shit about his daughter made it more disturbing.

a little off-topic: Cowboy Bebop again on AS? wow it seems people don't get tired of Spike and co.

They weren't in the middle of a season. They did 2 whole seasons worth of premiers from November to May, and then took a break while FUNimation finished dubbing. FUNimation is just about done, and Fullmetal Alchemist will be back with new episode premiers in August.

Yeah, I am pretty sure I am not. I've read about the story that follows and it just seems to get a bit outlandish but I have been following the series so far and I just wish they would finish it already.

On that note, FMA is brilliant. I have already seen the entire series and there are just some episodes that really hit you in the heart. Also, I was even able to draw some comparisons to some of the material I was reading at the time. Kind of similar to 1984 in a way.(I don't expect anybody else to see this comparison, but I thought so in a way.)
It gets kind of wierd near the end but it is definitely an amazing series.

Yeah that caught me and a friend completley by surprise when we were watching it too, it turned out that the show was a lot darker than we had thought. Very cool though.

You can never have too much Bebop. :D

You think that's bad, you should have seen what they did with DBZ! :lol *recalls Cell games playing about two dozen times before the buu saga started*

You aren't missing much my ass. Don't listen to them. Ep 30 and up has a plot twist (or two) every episode.

Himuro, the "not missing much " comment was referring to Yu Yu Hakusho.

And yeah, episode 7 was really dark and touching. Of course nothing so far has compared to episode 26.......
Why are they burying Daddy? He's got so much work to do!

I don't think FMA can not be depressing. I just finished the 1st FMA game ( Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel) and the ending is also very depressing. Keep watching after the credits and it gets a bit better.

I got a bad feeling for the movie, I have been avoid spoilers for the show (I have only seen what CN has shown, DVDs have not caught up yet) but I kinda know what is going to happen. I just don't think with it being FMA the movie can possibly have a happy ending.

Yeah, as mentioned, 26 eps is one full season no matter which side of the ocean you're on. And in any case, the second season should be starting up in a month or two - and you can watch episodes 27 and 28 ahead of time by buying the new Fullmetal Alchemist PS2 game, as well.

Ha, they did even worse than that. Remember how long they were stuck on the Frieza Saga? They kept restarting the show for over a year...it would get near the end of the saga and then it would pop right back to Episode #1.

Actually, 13 episodes was the most commont season format for quite awhile in anime. It hasn't been until recently that it switched back to a 26 episode format for a single season of one anime.

For the people talking about how it's not in the middle of a season, there's a good chance they cut off the last two episodes of the first season. They did the same with Ghost in the Shell. They showed episode 24 last wednesday, and last night Cowboy Bebop was in the spot previously occupied by Ghost in the Shell. Assuming they started the reruns at the same time, then Fullmetal Alchemist would have been only on episode 24 as well.

no, they've already aired the episode where
Hughes dies
and I believe that was 25 or 26.

yup, fma ended after ep 26, stupid place to end it..

Err no, it runs 51 episodes. 26 was the end of the first season.

I'm curious myself how they'll cover one of the more depressing events from the late episodes 45+
the explanation covering that pink haired priestess' (from the first episode) rape by the soldiers resulting in the baby she has at the end of the series
. If they air it uncut and faithful to the real translation i'll be very very impressed.

I've actually been surprised at how little CN has censored the series. Considering the fact that they went so far as to digitally remove cleavage in Bebop, FMC hasn't been edited too much. Glad to see things improving.

nothing explicit was seen or said so i dont think it will be edited, that scene just used some great direction to get the point across

They've edited Scar's head splattering attack every time he's used it.
Yeah, that's pretty much the only thing they've edited so far, though.

I'm not entirely sure why exploding heads are fair game for Robot Chicken and not for Fullmetal, though.

I'm more talking about the more mature subject matter not actual visual editing, i can't think of anything that serious that's been covered on CN, adult swim, toonami, etc. I know CN refuses to air that episode of Lupin III that has to do with nazi's so it appears they do draw a line someplace.

Heres something to consider. In FMA ep 25 they edited Scar head sploading a bandit. The same night on GitS they did not edit
The Major getting her head blown off and a closeup on the decapitated body in a pool of blood, sure it was a remote controled body but it was a very realistic decapitation.

So far, they haven't balked at any of FMA's tender themes about religion, or the closest one to that, The alchemist using his own daughter and dog to create a talking chimera followed by her death.

Pretty dark for CN to start with:P
