As the thread title says, I have some chicken drumsticks bought and delivered on Sunday. It's now Friday and the chicken has been in the fridge since.

It smelled a little bad and so I washed each drumstick carefully with hot water. It still smells a little funky but it's a faint odor.

I'm hungry for chicken, and I'm on 14 day quarantine at home after recently arriving back in the country. So If I have to dump this chicken that means I'll have to order some more, which won't get delivered today, which means I'll go to bed tonight without having eaten some chicken.

I hope you all quite understand the gravity of the predicament I find myself in.

Thanks for the advice. It's gonna suck, but I think I'm leaning this way.

I just recovered from a bad case of food poisoning while outside the country a few weeks back. Don't wanna have to go through that again.
Why are you even posting this if it smells bad especially after a episode of food poisoning.
Never leave raw meat in the fridge for more than a couple of days unless it’s marinating .
Rule of thumb always freeze it and take it out the day before using to defrost in the refrigerator.

You washed the chicken splashing salmonella and shit all over the place. You may as well cook the chicken and eat it now, the worst is already behind you.

NEVER fuck with chicken. If you're uncertain just don't even bother, it's not worth the risk. Eat gone off pork, beef or whatever else it's a trip to the bathroom and maybe a bucket but you fuck with chicken, including the frozen stuff and you fuck up, you're in for hospital levels of sickness where you'll need a drip because of deathly levels of dehydration or break a rib from the constant vomiting. Seen it happen to two people in my time on Earth and I've never fucked with chicken. I fact, just to be safe put a big sign up in your kitchen that reads "DON'T FUCK WITH CHICKEN" or ban chicken from our diet entirely.

Also, eggs. Wash them and your hands before you crack them and don't expect some fucker to have done it for you prior. Fuck that chicken and throw it out, not worth the pain.

Not worth the risk... and that's coming from me.
