Many years ago, I was experimenting with Dual partitions, and I installed Opensuse along with Windows 7 and the Linux partition took over the boot partition, and that apparently doesn't let Windows Update install service updates either.
So recently i saw the rave reviews of Windows 10 and wanted to take advantage of the free upgrade so i attempted to, but it spat out an error basically saying it couldn't because the Windows 7 wasn't the active partition, so this morning, i tried to set the Windows 7 partition as the active partition, and restarted the computer, and all of a sudden, I got a black screen spitting out the error "BOOTMGR IS MISSING".
I'd appriciate any solutions that aren't "wipe it". I have so many pictures and projects on that computer that i cannot afford to lose. Any help appriciated.
