I know this topic has come up before, but since search is disabled, I must ask again: what's the best one? I'm looking for 27 inch only. I saw a Sharp model for a really good price. Or should I just pay the extra dough for a Samsung. And are Sony's really worth it?

The only reason I didn't get a Sony was because I didn't really have the space for their smallest widescreen HD set. Samsung or Toshiba should be fine, though.

The Super fine pitch Sony's are the shit. AMEN!! The XBRs basically have all the inputs u may ever need including digital cable and free to air digital HD tuners.

Panasonic also do a good fine pitch CRT. Not so sure about the others though. Don't know what inputs and tuners they have.
