A few ground rules:

• Windows OS
• Hopefully around $500 maximum
• 750GB - 1TB Harddrive

The only notable thing I'm trying to do on it is music production with my DAW, hence the high memory requirement. Otherwise it's just for GAF and Photoshop and whatnot. Any suggestions?

The laptop market is absolute crap right, like literal feces

do you need a laptop, can you make do with a PC (Especially for audio work, A PC is much better to have)

I'm a Mac guy, but on the Windows side I can safely say that Toshiba has never done me wrong for laptops.

Wish I could help. I've owned over a dozen laptops of various brands and was never really satisfied and happy with a single one of my laptop purchases until the first time I bought a Mac.

The best Windows laptop I've ever owned was a Lenovo though.
