I was thinking, surely I'm not the only member here with a pilot licence.

This thread is for GAF pilots' or anyone interested in flying, to discuss all things aviation, private, commercial or military.

When I was younger I dreamt of flying for the airlines, got a CPL and instructed for a while but was having a lot of trouble paying the bills and ended up changing careers. 13 years later I've got my licence is current again and I'm aiming to pick up some part time work flying skydivers. Will keep you updated on how that goes.

What do you fly? What are your aviation goals?

getting a pilot's license has been a dream of mine for years, but I do get ocular migraines (sometimes making half of my visual field blind, in both eyes), so obviously i'm hesistant. It happens rarely enough that I think I'd be ok, but it's kind of a moot point because i don't have the money anyway.

A recreational pilot licence (RPL) would be worth looking into. Medically, as long as you hold a drivers licence you're covered for flying (that's how it works in Australia anyway). Lessons and rental rates for RPL aircraft are much lower than that of standard general aviation.
