Back then, it was widely speculated that Xbox would use way less powerful graphics chip (GF2 or even GF) as it was supposed to be released at the same time as the PS2. Only later it was announced that it's timetable was pushed back a year or so. With a GF1 chip, Xbox would have no doubt been less powerful than even DC.
