Fuck this PSP shit. I figure the money spent on mem sticks could be collated for a portable media player. Was going to buy 2 1gig sticks and then I thought... nah...

Check this baby out - I think I've got my eye on this one now but would love recommendations.

I like the look of that. Nice.
The one I posted isn't too shabby too - Have to do some research.. not many people on GAF have a PMP?

I might sell some of my older PSP titles that I no longer play (UL + WOP) to subsidise the purchase). Once I get the device, I won't even really need the 512mb mem stick I have with the PSP.

I was saying that the PSP was an awful media player for the money back when it was about to launch in the US. Don't get me wrong, the PSP is great, I love mine, but for video, I use my Archos 420.

The Archos 400 series is great. 20 or 80 GB of storage, you can record directly to it from TV, VCR, or DVD and play back over a TV as well as the screen. You can also download files to it and play them as well. The screen is nice and bright, and clear, although it's not 16:9. The sound is incredible with a set of headphones, and it can do MP3's, videos, and photos, as well as make voice recordings.

The 20 GB version is around $400 or so. I love mine, and highly recommend it as an on the go video player. It should be noted that that Archos has some new models coming out soon, which means more features and probably larger, brighter screens, but it also means that you will probably be able to get the older models for less money.

I got a Dell Axim 50v for a graduation present and it makes for a pretty kickass multimedia device.

I usually use it to read ebooks (the greatest invention of all time), but videos look pretty stunning on it as well. Plus it also doubles as a PDA with all the trimmings.

All the brand/models seem to have new versions coming out in the next 1-2 month. Very frustrating to read about because I want one now. :/ I can wait I guess but damn. I'm so sold on a PMP.

Looks hawt. ABout $430 USD new too. The thing is the new CREATIVE ZEN VISION has a MUCH MUCH bigger screen. I think the screen will be the deciding factor ultimately
