We all do it, we see a preview, we say this is going to suck, then it turns out that no, wait, this show/movie is actually really fucking good. For me, it was with the new Trigun Stampede anime. I thought the previews looked like garbage, but after watching the show, it's just as good as the first one, heck some of it is even better, especially because it has more of the manga feel to it as well. They absolutely nailed that anime and I can't fucking wait for season 2. Another one was with the Scott Pilgrim revival. Also thought it looked garbage, but damn if I didn't absolutely fucking love the Netflix show, maybe even more than the original, honestly. So let me know about your times.

For me personally it helped giving things a second chance after growing older.

There were certain musicians I checked out earlier in life as a teen that I simply was not ready to listen to yet.

I didn't know it at the time though, so I just thought 'this isn't as good as what I'm listening to now' and skipped them back then.

Same goes for some movies.

What were some of the songs and movies you're referring to? I'd like to know.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia..

For years and years I always thought, from the sound of the name, it was a show that was akin to something like 'The real wives of orange county' or some crap..

Never bothered to look into it, at all..

A couple of years ago my wife started watching it whilst I was working late, I come home, she asked if I'd 'seen this'

I couldnt believe what I was watching. How the hell did this pass me by? One of the funniest shows I'd seen in years..

And the best thing about it was I had so many episodes to watch!

It's such a great show. I'm glad to could discover it.

The Rose of Versailles anime, never thought I would like a show about a trans man. They just made a new anime movie too, will have to watch it.

Mostly songs that people would consider classics by musicians like ACDC, Prince, Queen, David Bowie, etc.

Same with movies like "Catch me if you can", "Taxi", "Philadelphia", "Boyz in the hood", "Jerry Macguire" of which I finally enjoyed watching in the past 5-10 years.

With movies I'm not saying that I skipped out on all of the classics, I'm just saying back then I skewed heavily towards action and horror much more than Drama, Slice of Life, etc. as I would always check out a Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Jean Claude Van Damme, or Arnold Schwarzenegger movie first and foremost.

Way back when, when it was discovered that Metroid Prime would be in first person and handled by Retro Studio, I was so pissed and quite sure it would end up being absolute shit.

It ended up being one of my favorite games of all time.

Recently probably Andor.

When it was announced and then the trailer hit, I thought it was just going to be more tiresome Disney shit. But it turned out to be a great show and season 2 was a banger.
